prologue

A psychic came into town today-- a real, genuine psychic. So, o'course I had to get a reading. I dunno that my ma believes in that sorta stuff, but man-- I wish she'd seen it.

She had a crystal ball, an' I wasn't too convinced yet; but the thing levitated and lit up-- and so did her eyes when she did it. She was it; the real deal. And she told me about the adventure I was destined to go on.

I've never left the city, barely travel out of this little section of it, but I've always wanted to see the world. This was a sign, I know it. So first thing tomorrow that's what I'm doing. I'll sell what little I have and get any gear I need and go. She didn't tell me exactly where to go, just that I'd know when I was on the right path, so I'm not worried about any of that.

Besides, I wont be alone; I'll have chew-chew. (I figure I gotta name him something, and he makes the cutest little nibbling sound when he eats, so that's good enough for me.)

chapter 1: part one

Oh man, this is unreal.

So, I leave town and decide to visit the nearest small village-- because outside the city that's all there really is. And who do I run into?

Corina!

Which, is the name of that psychic. I didn't know it until today, guess I forgot it or something? But I recognized her and she remembered me; remembered the fortune she gave me and everything! Now I know what she meant by I'd just know when I was in the right place. I definitely made the right call.

So, I go with her and we end up meeting a bunch of other people. Turns out there's some people missing and a reward being offered for finding them. Corina wants to help and I'm positive this was the adventure she foresaw for me. (Besides, some more gold in my pocket can't hurt.)
