Bellossom appeared at Gengar's mansion shortly after the winter of my mother's passing. Although I had my lovely shadow companion, he couldn't keep me safe from the depression that struck me like lightening. It snowed for what felt like centuries, a blizzard as harsh as the cold in my heart. I couldn't leave the house to venture about and find distractions. Every day, I laid in bed hibernating from reality. Only getting up to use the restroom occasionally and cook french toast. French toast was all I wanted to eat, it started to become an obsessive habit.. not that Gengar was complaining. He sure wasn't fond of my moping though. He would take trips out into the flurry of snow alone. Of course I felt bad, but what could I do when I barely had the energy to even lift my head at times? He always returned with gifts of some sort. He would hop into bed, offering me his various findings; pinecones, catmint, winterberries, whatever he could find to bring some life back to me. Despite this, I felt as if that miserable winter would never end. I had turned our room into a cave of despair, covering the windows with my thicker blankets to simulate a night setting during the day. Mornings were nonexistent and I could sleep in until the sun sank back into the horizon. I suppose Gengar got fed up with this routine, he started to rip my blankets down each day. Boy, was it aggravating. It's not that I was mad at him, I just didn't know how to cope. Fixing the blankets became a chore and I couldn't understand why he wouldn't just let me rest. One day, he committed the heinous act again, but this time he opened the view to a luxurious garden filling the property. How could this be? Winter had finally left, but how could a once empty yard be blossoming with such a variety of flowers overnight? It had never looked like this before. Was I hallucinating? I ran downstairs and flew out the front door to behold the brilliant sight. I dropped to my hands and knees, breathing in the mixed aroma of lantana, gardenias, hyacinth, daphnes, and so on. I laid down in a bed of pastel plants, filled with a warm happiness. A moment of tranquility. I flopped on to my back letting out an exhale of relief when I opened my eyes to a Bellossom of lilac pigment standing over my face, staring at me with a smile.

"Did you do all this?"
"Bellossom!"

I don't know how she came to be here, but I hold my suspicions that Gengar led her to me. From then on, she stayed in the garden of our yard that she had created, helping new flowers to flourish like you had never seen. Gengar and I come out to visit her each day. We indulge in the many scents, bright colors and the oh-so welcoming sunlight. During winter, she joins us inside the mansion, where she can continue to fill our home with any plant she pleases. Pothos vines climb the stairs and walls alike. Succulents of all colors, shapes and textures are her speciality during that season. I embrace them all, just as I embrace life for the beauty it is once again.
