We're here, she said. Her voice feels like it is emitting from far away but that might just be me. As we look around, there is only desolation. What used to be a planet rich of natural beauty is now a dried land. The air is heavy with dust and pollution. Every breath is like expanding my lungs and filling them with boiling water. We agree to explore by splitting: we both trust each other enough to be back before the sun sets.

A brief walk through the wasteland leads me to a dark cave. The rocks cascading down are almost shaped like waves. It's as if there used to be water spiralling down this path. Crawling towards the bottom is more difficult than expected. After struggling, the cave is now clearly in sight. If the air surrounding the planet was heavy, nothing can compare to the sulfuric and acidic air inside the darkness. Even with good eyes, it's difficult to find a path without almost falling every few steps.

After walking for what feels like forever, there is a small entrance lightly illuminated by a blue light. Using the cave walls is difficult and the rocks are warm under each palms. It almost burns the tender flesh. Crouching down near the entrance is sheer pain as the air is difficult to breathe. Every movements seems like your energy is being taken away. Body heavy and mind swimming, the darkness is surrounding every senses. Heavy eyes, slow breath a warm body ... In the cave, a thumping noise can be heard.
