The old jukebox started up;

The sound of a voice makes you jump. It distinctly stands out from the jukebox's muffled speakers. A light pink Lain rounds the corner and gasps when she sees you, nearly dropping her tray of dirty dishes. You shudder at the thought of dozens of broken dishes, and then face the source of the noise.

"My goodness, hello! Pardon my surprise, we just don't usually get patrons around this time."

You smile and mutter an apology, while the Lain places a menu in front of you. Upon opening it, you see every dish in this diner has a pun-based name. Looking up, you see your hostess is blushing.

"I know the names are silly! I was told they would sell better this way. Just let me know when you've decided!" She ducks back behind the bar before you can say a word. You hear pots and pans and dishes being moved around in the kitchen, a grill being flicked on, an oven ready to preheat. After another small gasp, your hostess returns.

"Sorry, I should've introduced myself! I'm Wuv. I've been running this diner for a few years now, and almost completely by myself!" Seeing how proud she is, you can't help but feel happy for her. You adjust yourself and lean in closer towards her.

"I inherited this place from my parents, who had let it almost go to waste. I had to totally renovate the whole place. But it was worth it!" Looking around, you notice the newness of the wood paneling on the walls, the perfectly aligned blinds, and the brand new paint on the walls. Wuv beams as she watches you take in the room.

"I've been trying to get to know a little bit about all my customers. And I hope I can share a little something with them too. So, do you know what you want to drink?"

"A black coffee please, with room for cream. And a glass of water." She quickly jots down your order with a pen and pad produced from her apron.

"Certainly! And, I have to ask, will you tell me a little bit about yourself when I come back with that?" You find yourself already smiling from anticipation before she finishes her question.

"Yes, of course!"
