He's A Clever Kind of Cultist Leader

Ophius is the God of a cult called Paradise Lost and is quite the ruthless one at that. He is third in a line of gods that were chosen based on behavior, strength, loyalty and devotion. These gods are chosen when the current one feels their time is up or there is a potential revolt against them. Luckily for Ophius the last one was just too old to give a damn anymore and thus he was indoctrinated into godhood.
Ophius is rather large in stature, equal in height to a two story home when standing on his four paws. His toxic black and green pelt help him blend in seamlessly to his surroundings, which in turn helps him eavesdrop on unsuspecting "family members". He tends to view the cultists as family and doesn't like to punish anyone but his primal urge to protect what they have built is far stronger and he will gladly take names off the census if he deems them a threat. He is kind and caring but will take no trash. Do not push his patience. It is currently not known where or why he has a golden collar. It is theorized among the cult that he was once a normal dog who loyally followed and protected his owner until they came across Paradise Lost. Ophius had been enticed by the God at the time and became their loyal canine companion himself, turning on his human and destroying them to show his faithfulness to the cult. When asked, Ophius never gives a straight answer, always steering the conversation in a different direction or just giving a simple sentence of wisdom. If the question is pressed, folks begin disappearing though he also doesn't admit to that either.
Currently he quietly looks over his flock and guides them whenever necessary. He also ends up breaking fights between the Mother Matron and his secret mistress, Rika. Mother disapproves of such relationships among the higher ups as she fears such things will bring their work to ruin. Shiva always argues otherwise and says the bonds of passion will forever be stronger than the single string alone. Ophius just agrees with both when asked his opinion, believing both had a good argument but he did not care for such silly arguments when work was to be done. Of course he would never admit to the Matron that the bond he shared with Rika already had produced some rather strong sons for them.
