Profile

General

Overview

Illegitimate daughter of Skaði, ward and later right hand of Týr, adoptive sister of Fenrir. Mother of Sarvek, Uma, Röki, Sokki, and Vaki. Lover of Eldr. Warden of Niðafjöll.

Personality

Unsuspectingly gentle, treats things with great care, strong nurturing tendencies. Pensive and observant, good listener, pays special attention, retains information well and rarely forgets. Relied on for exceptional intuition when passing verdicts. Values loyalty and honesty. Very jaded by life and loss. Hardened to derision and hostility. Sheltered, reserved, disposed to distrust, primarily solitary and secretive. Vigilant and wary, never lets guard down. Remarkably taciturn—uses words sparingly, keeps sentences breviloquent. Downtrodden, gloomy, and apathetic.

Treasure Chest Themes

Ásgarðr/Norse gods, harlotry, comfort items (pillows, blankets), motherhood/children, winter/snow/ice, snow faeries, indentured servitude, diamonds

Njǫrðr

A surrogate father figure if and however forbidden by the Æsir.

Njǫrðr took unexpected pity on the bastard offspring of his second wife, Skaði, and so forth, with the god Týr’s assistance through an arduous legal warfare, formally adopted her as if his own, albeit under the constraints by Óðinn’s conditioning.

Hrímnir took house and home between of two gods—Njǫrðr and Týr, respectively, primarily the former. According to Óðinn, Njǫrðr inherited an “entropy all but known to him” by fostering a full bred jǫtunn. Be that as it may, Njǫrðr seemed rather to pride in his undertaking.

Njǫrðr and Hrímnir were close throughout of her early days and so remain well into her life, if complicated by Óðinn’s stipulations.

Óðinn

Allfather and king over the Æsir pantheon, ruler of Ásgarðr, capitol of Ásaheimr.

As a central figurehead to the war with the jǫtnar, the birth of a full-bred there in his own homely realm caught his attention and raised concerns instantaneously. However, Óðinn’s fellow god-king, Njǫrðr, afforded unforeseen and, candidly, inconceivable pushback that the calf not be put down, but rather, fostered under his very own care. His vote of continuity rendered the Allfather rather stupefied and entered much of Ásgarðr into a strenuous argument. Ultimately, however, a conditional agreement was met, Óðinn’s genius heralding his decision.

For much of her young life, Óðinn placed close scrutiny upon Hrímnir if even he appeared otherwise aloof to her existence. Come her adult life, it fell to Njǫrðr to fulfill Óðinn’s demands of her. However leery the Allfather was of a giantess in his midst, he took great pleasure in the tool she was shaped to be.

Þórr

Firstborn and eldest Óðinnsson, Ásgarðr’s master jǫtunn hunter.

The bedrock of Hrímnir and Þórr’s relationship lies unstable, to begin with, on the baseline of the god’s role in the hierarchical Æsir. Njǫrðr’s insistence of life paired with his own father Óðinn’s pardon of a jǫtunn in Ásgarðr left Þórr increasingly disgruntled, wherein his tolerance and his restraint were indeed tested. Therein, however, the undeniable genetic connections they shared—Þórr himself being a half-giant—established common ground whereby, in spite of appearance, he found himself rather charmed. A true love-hate relationship.

Eldr

A Surtsson—one of many—born of the deep Múspels and rendered, if only for a time, displaced in Miðgarðr and eventually in Ásgarðr.

Hrímnir’s first contact with the eldþurs would lay the foundation of an unbreakable bond and a bridge of the elemental giants, as she unknowingly was indebted to his father, Surtr, for rendering possible his (temporary) disarmament of Elderstahl, the fiery sword of Ragnarǫk, and so as to repay him, she freed his son, she returned the weapon—betraying her loyalties in the first place, and she pledged a place among his forces—her ultimate treachery to the Æsir.

Following the first Ragnarǫk, Hrímnir and her son, Sarvek, were reunited with Eldr and sheltered with him in a chapel of Hårga, where they heralded a quest for the survivor gods, and between of it all, a romance was colonising in the cracks. Soon, Hrímnir would mother as many as four daughters by her mate, and the family would have to challenge age-old conflict at first hand, and test their bond.

Sarvek

Hrímnir’s firstborn child and her onliest son yet, himself the miraculous and law-defying second jǫtunn born in Ásgarðr; grandchild of the winter goddess Skaði.

For Sarvek even to exist, the risks which Hrímnir took were myriad; the birth of her young would christen the hrímþurs’s deep-seated dream of motherhood fulfilled; be that as it may, not short of controversy nor else tribulation—the conception itself was forbidden, and was believed to be that of a god-giant union, yet under the plea of autogamy, the carriage was pardoned on the condition of monitoring: should the resulting offspring be purebred, it would be acquiesced, otherwise any half-breed would be disposed of forthwith. Hardships unspeakable Hrímnir endured for to bring her baby into the world, and cherished him hence like an invaluable and precious treasure.

In Sarvek, Hrímnir would gain a guardian unrivaled, whose courage sometimes threatened foolishness, yet for him, she would do the very same, thus earning her the alias of “Motherbeast.”

Háseti

Firstborn of four sons of Hæilví, a young Vanir stripped of his godhood and sundered to Miðgarðr from the Red Forest of Vanaheimr.

Háseti’s first encounter with the jǫtunn, Dúrnir, was that of a lifelong ambition made reality by way of usurping his brother’s kingdom from out beneath of him, and unveiling its secrets, among them being a gateway to otherworlds, particularly including Jǫtunheimr. The self-proclaimed king seized his own hrímþurs for sake of protecting his claim of land and his kin from the Mad King and his youngest brother yet, Arngrím.

Despite the jǫtnar being a dream of deep-roots, Háseti chose to treat his own as if no more than weaponry.

Hati

The middle-youngest offspring by way of Hervör and prince of the mountain Lyfjaberg.

Dúrnir and Hati’s first encounter with one another stems from Háseti’s forces hostaging the Heir—from the sight of a jǫtunn in Miðgarðr, Hati could not possibly forget.

Throughout of Hati’s many interactions with the king Háseti, brazenly he importuned his captor to know what manner of beast which he kept, and eventually reached a confession, and simultaneously, a prohibition. Despite this, Hati made zealous his attempts and finally formally met the hrímþurs, and further found empathy as they shared in situation.

Hati would go on to further defy his great granduncle by devising inclusions of the jǫtunn, by which earned him friend in Dúrnir, and ultimately left him bettered if by way of walking on eggshells.
