Personality

Beloved mythological early king over the hall Nóatún and a patron of sailors, invoked for seafaring and fishing, can grant wealth in land and valuables to those just and deserving who request his aid, leaderly, generous and peaceful. Elegant, holds an air of sophistication about him, intimidating to some. Calm, solemn, deep, and enigmatic, serious, stoic. Thalassophile, melophile.

Óðinn

Allfather and king of the Æsir, ruler of Ásgarðr, Ásaheimr’s capitol, Njǫrðr’s antipode.

At the very marrow of Njǫrðr’s relations with Óðinn suffer from here and there in. As it were, the Æsir god-king would cripple the Vanir god-king through irreversible deceptions and leave Njǫrðr the more estranged by both respective pantheons, and worse yet, by his very own family. Depriving the Vanir king was at the forefront of Óðinn’s agenda, and it entertained him well, yet that is not to say that Njǫrðr was bereft of retributions, the like of which would leave Óðinn and much of Ásgarðr rendered effectively stupefied.

Þórr

The eldest son of Óðinn, the figurehead of the Æsir, the god of lightning, and a renowned jǫtunn hunter.

To the feelings that Þórr fosters for him, Njǫrðr is no fool, as for having wed to Óðinn, Þórr’s father, his daughter, Freyja, in her, he would gain a stepmother, and in Njǫrðr, he would gain a stepgrandfather, both of whose like was most unwelcome. At length, to the visage of envy manifesting, festering, the Vanir god was likewise no stranger, as Óðinn favoured far more his fellow king than his very own flesh and blood. His poor stepson Njǫrðr indeed pitied and to counseling for the betterment of their relationship, he was most amiable. Alas and alack, Þórr’s refusal was as stubborn as he himself. Njǫrðr thus would suffer Þórr’s devilry, particularly following his damnable adoption of a jǫtunn.

Skaði

Description.

Hrímnir/Dúrnir

The illegitimate offspring of Njǫrðr’s second wife, Skaði, herself the jǫtunn-goddess of the winter.

Most if not all of Ásgarðr—especially Óðinn—were took unawares towards even the possibility of the birth of a jǫtunn in their own homely realm, let alone the birth itself. Being forbidden—and more, a bastard offspring—entered the gods into a nearly unanimous vote of execution, yet it was by Njǫrðr’s contrast that saw the poor calf spared if after a battle of legalities to rival those of the field. Njǫrðr’s angle was all but perspicuous to the Æsir, particularly to Óðinn himself, who left his fellow king with a caution for which he threw to the wind, and quite gladly at that.

Himself a father of many daughters yet, Njǫrðr treated his newest as if by blood, the same, and raised her well, but in her youngly years beared a stone-heavy weight of responsibility by Óðinn’s conditional agreement to one day fulfill his demands, which would leave their relationship irreparably damaged.

Sarvek

Firstborn and only son of the hrímþurs Hrímnir, eldest of her five; grandchild of the winter goddess Skaði and to some effect, Njǫrðr himself.

The bond to Sarvek which Njǫrðr bore was woven before even his very birth, when to his attention it came that Hrímnir was pregnant, to begin with. Henceforth, the god assumed the more attentive, protective, and gentle to the giantess and her unborn time permitting, much as with Skaði before her. Upon the birth, to Sarvek, Njǫrðr was much the estimable surrogate grandfather for which one could ever hope.

During his mother’s absence, Sarvek was oft left in the care of Njǫrðr to whom he was student to a colourful curriculum, only further strengthening the bond. Alas, Sarvek would learn more than was bargained and place a stressor of mistrust in the god he once deemed equivalent to biological family.
