Thelxinoe, who was the daughter of a God and a Muse, spent a lot of time observing the human world. Along with her sisters, she was to lure sailors to their death with a beautiful song. Thelxinoe absolutely hated what she and her sisters had been tasked with, she felt like it was a waste of life. It took decades, and one very harsh deal with Hades, before Thelxinoe figured out a way to use her voice for something besides death and pain.

Thelxinoe and her sisters live on a set of islands, Sirenum scopuli, and usually sailors crashed their ships into said islands when lured with their song. Thelxinoe had Hades ward one of the islands, no one would crash into it and her sisters couldn't access it anymore, and planted tons and tons of Lotus flowers with the help of Hades wife, Persephone. These flowers bore a fruit gave elongated life, meaning the eater of said fruit wouldn't die as long as they were on the island and ate the fruit at least once a day. Thelxinoe thought this was a wonderful way to preserve life, but then had to decide how to pick the inhabitants of the island.

With the help of Thanatos (by Hades' request), she found those who were broken and ready to end their lives before the Fates' decided. Thelxinoe had the idea that, with enough effort on her part, she could give them an island full of their wildest dreams. An island that would make them feel like life was worth living again, a life full of happiness and joy. She took the greatest artists, musicians, poets, and most creative people in the human world that she could find and brought them to her island. They would be there to both inspire and teach those she brought to the island to spare their lives.

As long as Thelxinoe lived, as long as the Fates' allowed her, those lives would be tied to hers and her magical Lotus flowers. As long as they ate the fruit, and stayed on her island, her life would power theirs. Her voice and song would provide them hope. Once the Fates' decided it was her time, Thanatos would bring them all, Thelxinoe and all the souls on her island, to the Underworld where they would be embraced by Hades and Persephone. A long, happy, joyful life would be followed by an afterlife full of love and safety as well. Those who felt the world had given up on them, those who felt they weren't worthy, would be comforted for their entirety. They would never feel like they weren't worth it again, they will always feel safe and loved.
