Kai

Kai and Vai were sisters in the same ambush. Kai always got the most of everything since she was pretty and kind. Vai had done her best to be just as kind but it got old when your efforts go unnoticed. It was especially bad after Vai's son was born, she was particularly hostile toward Kai. The argument the pair got into about their cubs caused her to be kicked from their group. Vai swore she'd never forgive her sister for being unable to see the pain she was in.

Kovuki

Kovu is someone she holds very near and dear to her blackened heart. Her precious son that she had hoped survived against all odds. She had been tainted by Ophius a long time ago and knew she would not survive if she ever had cubs. Kovu had been the only one and she protected them till the day she perished. Her biggest regret was scaring those who had been trying to help her away. If only she hadn't been in so much pain... If only she had just accepted the help... She only hopes her little boy is out there somewhere, thriving. It's what keeps her going, keeps her from drifting into the void.

Grievance

An angry wolf that was formed after the original vessel had perished. Vai does not know exactly where this one came from as most others seem to emerge from a nearby lake when ready for the world of the living again. His name became Grievance but the others tend to call him Grieve for short. He does not speak very well and can only talk in sentence fragments. This does not mean he is brainless though. He's quite the calculator when it comes to stalking, attacking and moving targets. Apparently he can sense grief and uses this to his advantage though Vai has yet to understand how. She always seems to black out when he's about to work his magic...
