Bowman;

Head high, arms spread, bow set, arrow flies.

I grew up in the woods, in a small cabin surrounded by tall trees with high branches. Hiding was nearly impossible, and growing food by our own was rare and difficult, so we had to adapt. Hunting was the only way to arrange some food. With no hiding spots... we had to improve our hunting skills somehow, so we learned how to produce our own bows and arrows and deal this matter with our own hands.

In the beginning, it wasn't easy. Our arrows would fly and get stuck in trees, never reaching a target. Moving targets were nearly impossible to hit. Our skills were low, but our need of improvement was high, so we could not give up. And we haven't. And we finally did it.
What started as a need grew up to be a hobby. Not the hunting, of course, but the archery. And soon I would improve my archery skills as much as I could, as fast as I was allowed to, and grew fond of building bows and arrown in different shapes, colors and wood material.

My history with Lyx began as soon as I hit my first moving target. Instead of being shooed from the noise of arrows flying, she came closer, fascinated by the movements. My companion tried to scare her pointing an arrow towards her chest, but I dismissed him. That curious little creature soon became my companion. Lyx normally stays around when I am either practising or hunting, curling herself in my shoulders. She makes no sound; she just stays there, unnoticed, silenced, until the arrow hit a target.

Being in the woods all the time, crafting bows and arrows and hunting is very lonely. But, somehow, my days are filled. I like the sound the leaves of the trees make when wind blows. I like to hear the prays coming closer. I like the smell the dry leaves leave when they fall on the woods floor when it is Autumn. I like to watch the sun setting in the highest points of the woods. I like to watch the fog slowly splashing my cabin's windows with steam. I like to hear the fire crackling in my fireplace. I like the sounds of the birds, so sparse nowadays, migrating to the south.

It is a lonely, yet beautiful life. And I wouldn't change all the good feelings I have every day for nothing. The life in the woods is lonely, I won't deny, but living in the big city can feel much more.

Below you can find my collection of different bows and arrows I have produced during the years. Don't try to find my friends; you will not be surprised to find none.
