It was roughly two months into quarantine from the virus the girl referred to as 'the bullshit virus'. It was annoying. She couldn't see her friends (not that she had many), she couldn't go shopping (except to the grocery store), and worst of all, she'd been fired from her job of five years due to her stupid boss freaking out and blaming the girl for something that was the boss' fault. The girl had many, many reasons to refer to the virus as she did. The worst problem of all though, was that she was bored. Bored out of her damn mind. So bored that taking the trash out became fun. So bored that she went on long walks for fun. So bored that after she had read all her books and played way too damn many hours of video games and had weeded the entire damn yard 50 times over, she decided to dig through her craft closet and see if anything there could provide some relief from the excruciating boredom. After digging through the paints and paper and pens, she came across a small package of paper. Washi paper from Japan, cut into little strips to make paper stars. She remembered buying it, but never got around to teaching herself how to make the little stars it was for. So she sat down, popped open a YouTube tutorial, and got to work. A couple of hours later...there was a mason jar full of brightly colored and patterned stars...and the girl was hooked! She popped off to Etsy, where she had ordered the first paper, and ordered way too much more. NO, JUST ENOUGH MORE. BARELY ENOUGH. Now she just had to wait for the damn package to arrive. Stupid quarantine anyway!
