becomes unwound.

There's a vacant shop that sits in the strip mall. The "For Lease!" sign hangs crooked in the dust covered window. Even before the Great Recession, the landlord just couldn't ever seem to find a tenet willing to lease the space for very long. The landlord tried adding bonus incentives to keep their tenets from breaking their leases - they were so desperate they offered the 6th month in the lease free of charge - and yet it could never be enough of a bribe to convince people to stay.

Tenets would first complain about the temperature being too cold despite the heater being turned on. Later, the complaints of hearing strange noises and scratching on the wall would roll in. And finally, objects begin to go missing or moved from where they swear they left them.
The final straw for many is when they would lock up shop for the night only to return the next morning and find that the display racks would be thrashed, trashed, and strewn all over the store.
Checking to see the security footage proved to be fruitless as something strange seems to always happen at just the right time for the cameras to not pick up the ne'er-do-well responsible for the mess.
There are never signs of a break-in and employees are all accounted for and have alibis. If they've reached this point, the tenets are so fraught and exhausted that they finally cave-in and break their lease.

The longest anyone's ever stayed was three months.

From October 31st to November 2nd, each night spirits, demons, ghouls and beasts gather to The Strip for the annual Great Supernatural Bake Off competition!
