Dear Erelin,
How are you doing, friend? I hope you got the last batch of crystals I sent you. The post carrier's a little flaky, but I trust them.
I reviewed the reports you sent me about Shimmer. Rasdan looked over them, too, and the crystals I've sent you this time are based on his advice. Maybe they'll be a better fit than the last few?
I know you're still a little skeptical about the whole crystal idea, and that's okay! But, I still wanted to share my latest findings with you. Maaaaaybe you might change your mind? ^.^ Anyway, Rasdan was kind enough to let me run a few tests on his own Legendary weapon, after I assured him I wouldn't break it, blemish it, or take it apart. You see, I just shine light on it in a certain way, and depending on how it bends...okay, the process will take WAY too long to describe in one letter to you. (I'll be happy to tell you about it later.)
Long story short, in addition to the high quality metals and elemental magic conductors I expected, there's something else - something unknown - contained in this Legendary. Yes! There's some other mineral or something that's skewing the results of all my tests! I've obtained all kinds of ores and alloys from every corner of Subeta, but not one of them or any of the combinations of them I've tested so far give me the same result as the Legendary. It's so weird! Iruta and I are stumped!
Oh yeah, did I mention Iruta to you before? He works at the Sable Smithy in Darkside, and he's been helping me make all the different test samples. Don't worry, he's very discreet. Very stoic too. A little intense, though...
Anyway, I'm going to continue my tests after I finish this letter. Even if this turns out to be a dead end as far as the Legendaries go, I'm excited! We may be dealing with some very rare material, or possibly...maybe, just maybe, a teeny tiny chance...material that isn't native to Subeta at all. I don't know why I think that, but wouldn't that be an amazing discovery??
