The Valravn.

An ancient clan of warriors, turned into something monstrous and ominous, as the ravens picked at their bodies and their blood sank into the soil of the war-torn battle ground.

At these sites of such massive and overwhelming slaughter and defeat, the birds will always get there first. Long before the remaining soldiers dare to return and gather their fallen brethren - the Ravens will have been picking them clean.

And what happens to these men, whose bodies have been picked clean to the bone by those dark, scavenging avians? Well, you are what you eat, they say, and as legend would have it the blood of these men settled in the bodies of the birds until they became something else - not a bird and not a man, but a shapeshifter - a large and bipedal creature, feathered and winged, reported to haunt the sites of these ancient battles.

Through them, the collective memory of these fights live on. It is the Valravn who remind us of our past. It is the Valravn who can walk between worlds of spirit and human.

And it is the Valravn who warns us of our future.
