The sky is dark, though it is mid-day. All around the Paralix are huddled, forming a lose circle around their leader. He has the prestige position of being the tribe's Dancer of the Sun.

It is dark for nearly half the year in the far reaches of the Arctic Frost. It is deeply ingrained in the minds of the Paralix tribes that it is the dancing of their leaders that brings back the sun each year. Without them, the frozen wasteland might never see the light of day.

Like his father before him, Sundance holds this honorary position. He spends nearly an entire year preparing his dances and getting the routine just perfect. Any flaw in his dancing, a single misstep, might offend the sun and send her into hiding again. So it is with careful precision and the honed skills that Sundance performs at the start of each summer.

There is little time for fun and games when one is the Dancer. You won't often see Sundance out socializing or just lounging around. His job needs his full attention at all times and Sundance is eager to do his job well.

Art Details

Overview: Sundance is the leader of his tribe of Glacier Paralix deep in the Polar Ice Fields. As such, he is in charge of the dance that brings the sun out of its long hibernation every year. He takes his job very very seriously and doesn't spend much time just goofing off.
