That dream had come again last night. It wasn't a nightmare, quite the opposite really. But having everything you have ever wanted dissapearing with the opening of your eyes was far more painful than any nightmare could ever be.
A life that could never be. A future he will never have. Buying a house together, having children, growing old together. Kissing her, holding her, looking her in the eyes. What he wouldn't give for just one last look.
The reality hits him as soon as he opens his eyes, and it hist him hard. Physical pain, unstoppable tears, shortness of breath. The image of his never to be children quickly fading away. His long gone wife's eyes closing as his open. Yes. Far far more painful than any nightmare could ever be.

The time was 3:04 and Cleopatric had just made it home. The black mobile phone lying on the counter was ringing. Even before picking it up he knew who it was, as there was only one person with his personal number.
-Hello, said Cleo abruptly.
-Hey! Why haven't you answered my calls? I've been worried sick!
-I've been at the office.
-Until now?!, The voice on the other line was both worried and angry.
-Money never sleep., An excuse Cleo had used many times before.
-But people have to! I was over at your place earlier, but no answer, and I've been phoning all night... I was worried you might have done something. Cleopatric stayed silent.
-It's the day, tried the other voice carefully.
-So?, Cleopatric was getting angry.
-So? That's all you have to say about the anniversary of your wifes death?
-Don't you dare mention her! Don't you dare! She was the loveliest person to ever grace this planet, and you're just a low life bookie who took all the money that could have saved her!
-So it's my fault?!
-If you hadn't let me gamble all the money away I could have paid for that new treatment!
-Fuck you Cleopatric., Any reasonable person would have hung up the phone, but not BOOKIE. He was a way better friend than Cleopatric deserved, and he hated himself for not being as good of a friend back. Cleo took a deep breath and continued.
-I'm sorry. I've been drinking and-
-I understand., BOOKIE'S voice was calm again., Drink however much you want today, but I'll come over tomorrow and clean it all out. You can't handle it.
-See you tomorrow.
-Keep safe.
