Background

It's easy to say Towbon was born to love the sea. Who wouldn't when you were a Hydrus pet? But he didn't truly love it. Not for several years.

Towbon was born inland, miles away from the sea or any connection to it. He was born into a low class family, poor and only just getting by every week. Gangs on their doorstep and druggies wandering the streets. Certainly not a place you want to raise a child in, but here Towbon was raised and raised well. His family were good and well mannered, despite how poor they were. The streets tempted with their violence and rebellious nature, but Towbon kept off the streets and to himself, learning where to avoid and where was safe. He did well in school while standing his ground against bullies.

One thing Towbon loved more than anything else was dancing. Not just any dancing though, he loved breakdancing. He and other breakdancers would find the safest places they could find and pull trick after trick until they needed to move on when trouble started rolling in. Breakdancing kept them out of the worse trouble, kept them from being poisoned by the small world they lived in. It took them to performing in the streets for money, dancing for people's enjoyment, to make them smile. Eventually they discovered the ever moving world of parkour, which only amp'd up their breakdancing to another level.

But then life has a way of turning the world upside-down. His family suddenly came into money when a relative died, leaving them with enough money to move to a better place and life a better life. Towbon didn't want to leave his friends behind, but they told him he was better off getting out of there. They'd be fine. They'd stay safe and maybe visit wherever Towbow moved to when they could.
Within a couple of weeks, Towbon's family moved to the coast into a beautiful house that had a wonderful view of the sea. It was the first time Towbon had ever seen the sea, and he had never felt so comfortable in his life.

The coastal city was a nightmare to get used to. New streets to memorize, new places to see. But a quick visit to the beach calmed Towbon's nerves and he was back into the fray. He soon got familiar with the place and eventually got a job at a youth center, assisting a breakdance instructor. He quickly made new friends, and after a few years he was promoted to being a full instructor. Things didn't seem like they could get any better. But he was wrong. They did get better when he new friends finally convinced him to try surfing. As a Hydrus, he was a natural and damn did he fall in love with it.
From the dangerous streets to a life of joy and happiness. As they say;
