PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION
Despite her age Maddie looks much younger due to her size. She looks more like she's a teenager and she enhances this look by the way she dresses. Her features are soft and almost childlike, with a doll like feel to it. She loves to dress in black and white, describing her style of clothing as 'gothic lolita'. She also loves accessories that bear spiders, skulls, eyeballs or other strange and creepy adornments. She's not very curvy and her black hair (dyed)goes to her midback if straightened but the tips are usually curly so it reaches her shoulders. She has a very fair skin and even enhances the paleness of it by wearing make up, paired with black or blood red lipstick and black eyeliner and mascara. While her eye are brown she often wears purple contact lenses.
PERSONALITY
Madleine is a easily excitable, always smiling, spunky sort of woman, who never seems upset or sad or angry as far as others are concerned that meet her in her cafe. She doesn't seem to worry much about anything and enjoys taking up new challenges. But underneath that beaming addictive smile lays a very morbid and dark humored personality that Plague fears so much. Nobody would suspect that the happy go lucky woman enjoys collecting strange and creepy paraphernalia ranging from odd sewn up taxidermy 'monsters' to eyeballs in jars and skulls of small birds. She seems pretty carefree when it comes to everything that has to do with death or decay and enjoys also movies of the more gory type. Her favorite place to spend a holiday or even live in would be Victor Wynd's Last Tuesday Society.
BACK STORY
Born and raised in Paris, France, Madleine's family moved to New York when the girl was five due to her father accepting a new job there. Going through school with relative ease she soon realized that she had a strange interest in death and decay, often looking at animals found dead for whatever reason on the side of the road. She also decided she wanted to not only study psychology but also never grow up (or better: never look grown up). Re-creating her own image she later ditched her studies in favor of buying a small cafe which she quickly turned into a Japanese themed Maid Cafe though with a bit of a darker twist, the interior decorated with items from her collection even though she makes her customers believe it's all fake. After meeting Plague again during the 1000 year meeting she's been trying to find the Gate whenever possible, clinging to him when she gets the chance. She has an unhealthy obsession for it and if she could she'd keep it in a jar at her place just to hug Plague at night like a plush animal. Plague doesn't understand her behavior at all and is quite scared of her and her 'love'.
LIKES/DISLIKES
Maddie loves sweet treats, morbid things, old books, war photos, Memento Moris, Plague and gothic lolita style clothes with lots of frills. She also loves rainy days and gory movies. She strongly dislikes getting older, fearing her first wrinkles and not being in the center of attention. Everything ordinary bores her and she would never be found playing mini golf or riding a horse. Fairs are different on the other hand where she prefers the wild rides over the fried food and the less thrilling attractions.
STRENGTHS/WEAKNESSES
As a regular human she has all the strengths and weaknesses of one though her physical strength is quite low. She's fast on her feet and is good at manipulating people with her innocent smile and looks. She is also the only Key/human not affected by Plague's deadly aura which results in her always trying to hug him.
