I'm one of the Nine Keys.

What's a Key you ask? Well, we're all humans, reborn in an endless cycle of life and death to be parts of the keepers of the balance. We are the mortal counterparts to our immortal Gates. Every one thousand years we come together to seal the gates that keep the terrible monstrous creatures at bay. If we fail this mission it's Game Over for this planet. Sounds like fun, right?

It wouldn't be so bad though if I wasn't the unlucky one who got stuck with being reborn as a sacrificial lamb every. God. Damn. Time! My name still doesn't ring a bell? How about Jean D'Arc then? Yes, the virgin maiden of Orleans. /That/ Jean. Remember how I died? Yes? Exactly that's the problem. It happens in every life cycle I'm going through. I'm there to save others be it a few people or a whole civilization. Even if they just /believe/ I might save them.

Inca maiden sacrificed to bring a good harvest? Check. Word War II soldier dying in a final attempt to save their battalion? Check. Virgin maiden burned at the stake after freeing France? Oh you bet. It is terribly tiresome.

And as if that wasn't rough enough- I do remember each life time. And my Gate is the most obnoxious of them all. Just imagine a whiny three year old in form of an Angel and you got Reverence.

Honestly I should be signed up for Sainthood but I'm pretty sure I already got that position. At least this life time I can enjoy myself a bit more with my ghostly boyfriend Edgar. And trust me, Reverence has a /lot/ to say about that.
