Name Meaning:
Tetsuya - Japanese; "Devoted, To be"
Hotaru and I, have always been inseparable. Being twins, that always seemed like just the way of things.
We had a bond unlike my other siblings.
It was with this bond in mind, that we set out from our home to do what no one from our village had yet dared to do.
We chose to become Pokemon trainers and travel the world.
Our first Pokemon truly reflected our own identities I think. My sister, whimsical as she was, chose an Abra. At the time I thought the Pokemon would be useless, and it certainly acted that way... All it did was sleep.
My own first Pokemon was a Ponyta, chosen to carry us across the land at speeds our own feet would not permit. I named her Arc, and she proved to be as loyal and strong as I had hoped both she and I would be.
Everything went well, until we arrived at the first city.
You see, our village was secluded, hidden. Very few ever ventured away from it, for reasons of safety. So to us, to go from a sleepy little forest village to one of the largest cities in the land was quite a shock.
I set to finding the gym right away, but in my zeal, my sister wandered away and was lost in the crowds.
I ran all over the city that day.
And when I finally found her, she was being accosted by some... human.
Yet, when I immediately flew to her defense, attacking her attacker, she threw herself in the way and defended him!
She claimed she had saved him, and admonished me for attacking him.
I couldn't believe my ears. Saved her? I had just seen him manhandling her.
This human, as loathe as I am to write his name, was called Aire Nightfade. A sinister name that still sends chills down my spine.
I sought to reclaim some of my dignity, and challenged him to a battle.
Arc fought valiantly, but the human's Pokemon defeated her handily with inhuman speed.
After that as much as I tried to separate him and my sister, he clung to her like a parasite, and she, oblivious to her danger continued to defend him.
Despite us only having left a short time ago, I drug my sister home, with her parasite in tow. If I couldn't rid her of this affliction, my family would know how.
They certainly didn't like him when they first met him, with the exception of my foolish sisters. Our youngest sister can look into a person's heart and mind, and I thought if anyone, she would be able to dispel his lies. And yet, she was his greatest champion, leading our oldest brother and sister to his side as well. My mother and brothers at least remained resistant.
For a time.
Eventually they all fell victim to his insidious charm. Only my brother Akira remained steadfast in his distrust.
Disgusted, I left home.
In the city, I had met a wonderful person, Nate, whom I now sought out. Dwelling in the harsh Dusty Desert with a band of bandits may not be the most stunning of lifestyles for a person, but for Nate, it fit him just fine.
With Nate I was able, for a time, to forget all that had happened with my sister and that damnable human. He soothed my fears and made me feel almost as if I could understand Hotaru's infatuation with the human.
And yet, I couldn't forget what had happened. I returned home, and continued my battle in the shadows.
Eventually fortune smiled upon me, and the human left of his own accord, only to be captured by our greatest of enemies. It was a sweet victory, that soured all to quickly.
My sister led my brother into that dangerous pit of vipers and saved him. One false step and they both could've been captured, and the safety of our home, destroyed.
When they returned, the human had changed. He had become like us... But not. His transformation only marked him for the demon I had already known him to be. The others were still blind to it.
The worst happened then. My sister and I had pledged never to evolve without the other... and yet somehow that infernal demon made her forget that promise. She changed so much, and when I looked at her, I could no longer recognize the sweet sister whom I loved so dearly.
Now at an even greater disadvantage, she had fallen firmly into his grasp.
Again, I left home. But this time, I sought power.
Power to defeat the demon who had corrupted my home and family.
Power to destroy any who would threaten to do the same again.
I found that power.
I found it, when I found Moirae...
