Long ago, when Presea was but a young girl, her sister Alicia left for work in the city of Altamira, leaving her alone with their father. However, around this time, he had taken ill and quickly became too frail to continue his arduous work as a lumberjack. In light of the situation, Presea vowed to become strong enough to wield her father's axe in his place, so she agreed to take part in an experiment which required her to offer her body as a host for the creation of a cruxis crystal.

Indeed, the exphere that resulted from the project did magnify her strength exponentially, but was not without it's drawbacks. Due to the nature of the experiment, her physical growth came to a halt and her emotions steadily became suppressed. While under the influence of the exsphere, she grew into a mechanical routine, and as the days went by her father became increasingly ill, until the day of his death. Just as she had not noticed his worsening condition, she hadn't noticed his passing and consequently did not bury him, but rather left him in his bed.

Presea unintentionally met with Lloyd and the rest of the party while they were trying to fabricate a plan to get into into the heavily-guarded Tethe'alla Castle. Not accustomed to interaction, she barely uttered a word unless it was to express her desire to return home and continue her work.

Eventually, the rest of the group learned that Presea was in fact 28 years old; her exsphere had stunted her growth for 16 years. Her body finally resumed it's normal aging process when she acquired a working key crest, along with her mind being brought back to reality, and only then did she return home to bury her father.
