For as long as I can remember, I was kept at home. My father ran a private school, but even I was kept from that. Not very many people knew of my existence. He actually taught me everything I would need to know as far as schooling went. There were a couple of others around my age that knew me and would come to visit and hang out, but it was only under supervised times. It wasn't that where I lived was bad; it was simply I eventually grew tired of it. My father wasn't even my biological father. He had never said as much, but it was an unspoken thing that I just knew. Who or where I came from, though, I didn't know. And my father was never really good at explaining things... what he was great at was beating around the bush.
For a while, I thought nothing of leaving the areas I was confined to. I listened well, I got to spend time with my parents, and had a couple of friends that would come visit. It wasn't until I reached my teenage years that I began to wonder... and explore a little.
