TC: political things, electoral, suit dresses?

Synopsis: A no nonsense woman determined to change the world.

It would have been perfect.
She is, after all, strong. Dynamic. There's nothing she can't do when she puts her mind to it. She bends iron and shakes earth.
She could easily lead a country. And in 2052, with another election fast approaching, that's exactly what America, divided by corporate greed and the working man's needs, is looking for to heal itself.
But it's 2052, and not 2095, or 2115. Division in the country is as bad as it has been since the civil war, having been on the rise since the tragedy at New York in 2001 -- and women are more obsessed with their appearance than they were in antiquity. Not a single woman holds political office in all of America. Less than a quarter of all women vote.
Woman has been lost, and to what?
The advertising industry pumps billions of dollars a year into harming their self esteem, manipulating them into believing that there is something inherently wrong with them.
And in turn the makeup industry makes trillions of dollars a year off of these women.
From this crowd of lost women there emerges a single voice, a woman calling herself Madam. She is not beautiful, as many of the
women around her are, nor does she aspire to be. Her skin is wrinkling and she does not smile. She frowns, scowls, bares her teeth.
But there is more to her than the quality of her smile, or her barked laugh. She is bright. She is witty. She is smart. She is what woman needs.
And, in her own words, she is a true lady.
Others challenge this. She does not spend hours searching for a perfect complement to her dress, or her life at home, watching her children. She is childless, husbandless, with plain dresses that would put a beggar's to glory.
But this does not matter when you hear Madam speak.
She has risen. Not high enough to change anything, but high enough to discomfit the men at the top - a woman in politics is a grandmother's memory. And she'll rise and rise until she sees the equality that, generations ago, was only a breath away.
