Down by the old mill, Belgora and her friends were engaged in a furious snowball fight. The snow was flying thick and fast and I carefully maneuvered through the onslaught bearing a tray of hot chocolate treats for the warriors. Suddenly, I got caught smack in the face with a very wet, cold, well packed piece of the lovely white frozen stuff. I set the tray down on the stone wall and adjusted my red scarf to better cover my face. No sense entering into a war zone unprotected. Grabbing up some snow I packed it into a nice round sphere and hurled it as hard and fast as I could. I winged someone's shoulder. Ah, well....not good enough. TRUCE!!! I yelled into the fray and held up the tray. Time for some warmth before the skating party up at Old Creek Mill tonight!!!! The battlers stopped and gathered round for refreshment. Laughing and shrugging off bits of snow from faces, eyelashes and hats and scarves, the gang lounged on the low wall and took advantage of hot chocolate eggnog and warm brownies fresh from the oven.
