Legend: Imbibers drink the liquor from a barrel used to preserve a dead body.
Sailors used makeshift embalming when Lord Nelson died. Surviving officers decided to return the body rather than bury this famous admiral at sea. Reportedly his body was immersed in the ship's brandy stores, the only preservative available. The sailors, though, not wanting to go without their alcohol, siphoned out portions for drinking through a piece of macaroni, eventually draining the brandy dry.

What this legend doesn't tell you, is that when the body of Lord Nelson was retrieved from the barrel there appeared to be a large open gash, running from his neck down passed his stomach. Large black feathers, along with what appeared to be claw marks were the only evidence that something had been feeding off the Admirals body.. maybe even being what had killed him.

The crew searched the ship, the dock and even cast nets to search the sea, with no result. It was as if the wretched beast had simply vanished into thin air.

Admiral Nelson was buried, his body left unseen. The events were hushed up, with the sailors keeping quiet after all the Admiral was to be honored not scandalized.

That was years ago.

At some point after being freed from Admiral Nelson, the demon took his name.

Proving himself to be a master thief, Nelson was able to rob items from the Gate Keeper under his very nose.. Food, weapons, the Blackheart Hollow was a perfect hideaway. When the Gate Keeper finally noticed that one of Malerias prized Shinigamis had gone missing Nelson was forced to make a run for it.

Nelson began hiding from the authorities with 666, his new minion. It was 666s growling that gave him away as he sensed an intruder. Pup found them both.

Pup and Nelson make a pact, he would keep quiet about Nelson if Nelson would be willing to help him with something...

Nelson is a grouchy character with evil undertones. He is capable of many things but usually exerts his talents on not so good ideas. For example, using his lucky claw Nelson can open locked doors, but Nelson uses this for breaking into homes, hiding from authorities and even robbing valuable items.

Nelson sleeps through most of the daylight and instead chooses to spend his nights awake. Covered by darkness he feels more at home with his surroundings. Like the Monster under your bed, the darkness would hide him and nobody would know that he is there unless he wants them to.
