Oh my gosh, hello there! Sorry, did I make you jump? I was just surprised to see ya, 'cause, we don't get many visitors around here. Usually people stay away from us, which makes me sad. We need friends too, ya know. W-would you like to be my friend?

Ivan

Olan, will you shut up? We don't rely on others, they always let us down. We've got each other, and that is all we need. Is that not good enough for you? What if this stranger is here to steal our food. All that scavenging would be for nothing. Is that what you want?

Eren

Hey, uh, don't mind them, ok? They just get excitable. By the look on your face, you haven't seen many, if any, three-headed rats before. Though from what I've heard, we are becoming more common. I hope they're treated better than we have been. Anyway, my name is Eren, here on the right. Ivan is the middle, and that's Olan on the left.

At the time that we were born, the rat kingdom would not give us individual birth certificates, seeing as we shared one body. Nor would they have three first names listed. Only one first name per body; we are simple-folk like that. So our parents had a long think about how to get around that. They decided to go with a name that they could derive three names from. Father was very fond of the name Ivan, and Mother wanted to honor her brother, Eren, who had a fatal encounter with a trap. They spent a few nights skimming through baby name books, 'til they made it to the 'O Names" section. Father saw the name, Oliver. "We can take 'iv' from Ivan and 'er' from Eren!" Mother read the list of other 'Ol' names, and suggested Olan. Father liked it, so our name had been formed!

Ivan

Man... was it necessary to tell our entire origin story to a stranger? Might as well tell them every nickname we've been called. All the people who have shrieked at the sight of us.

Eren

Oh, Ivan, stop worrying. So what if I rambled a bit? It's not like we get many people around here to chat with. The other rats have always excluded us from everything. I was just happy to talk to someone new. They seem much nicer than the others, don't you think?
