The jackal headed Gate's eyebrows knit together in a display of growing exasperation. Pinching the bridge of his nose he closed his eyes to find his composure again before looking back up.

"You truly don't understand this. I can tell by the way you keep repeating your arguments that are -in all honesty- very childish and worthless. Rules are important. Or better: Rules are the most important aspect in the existence of a Gate. Do you truly believe we could remain Keepers of the Balance if each of us did as they please? And please, I /beg/ you, don't use Key as an example now. He does his own thing admittedly but even /he/ follows the basic rules, guides the souls to the afterlife, welcomes them to his realm. The rest, as annoying it might be, doesn't fall under the rules and restrictions that I have to keep up to ensure that none of you will cause any damage to this world."

Law paused again, looking the other Gate over, noticing annoyance and anger on Death's face.

"But...!"

"I think there is nothing else for me to add to our conversation. You should leave now. And at least /try/ not to cause me any more headaches, Death, if you'd be so kind. Time is troublesome enough but he is a mere human. /You/ should really know better."

Death just muttered something under his breath before the Gate disappeared back into the shadows.
Law nodded as if to show that he was satisfied with the result of this talk, before he picked up his feather again, dipping it into the glass filled with ink and continue writing up all the laws and rules he deemed necessary to keep the more unruly of the immortal entities known as the Gates under control.
