Mirror, mirror on the wall,
Whose the fairest one of all?

"Spin your body around,
Now your feet are gonna hit the ground,
I am going sleepless in your out of lullaby.

Always turning back to you,
You never let me down.
Loving your illusions,
Staring at a crooked crown,

Honey, honey, honey you're the death of me.
Honey, honey, honey will you ever see?

You've got a dark heart,
You've got a cold kiss."

Basic Info

Name: Faril
Meaning: N/A
Gender: Female
Species and color: Hydrus Kerubi
Siblings:

_____+ N/A
Mate:
_____+ N/A
Residence: Hergall Castle and Lagoon
Bio: There was, in fact, a time when Faril was not nearly as wary and distrusting of others as she now is. Unfortunately, not only can she not remember that time, but she can't recall what happened to cause such a violent transition in her perception of the world around her. Unknown to her is the fact that she once took the time to help out a rather... questionable looking female; she claimed to need some ingredients for a potion, and Faril, whom long past liked to do her best to help those in need, fetched what was asked of her. The femme turned out to be a powerful witch, and upon her spell's completion, turned on Faril and changed her outward appearance, forever binding the lithe Kerubi to the sea and water.
The spell, however, had a strange effect on Faril; it effectively erased her memory, and with it the recollection of the events that had come to pass. She did, however, retain a dread and distrust of others that lingers in her personality even today. Despite the fact she's not nearly as cute as other Kerubis, she still deems herself a beauty and goes through great lengths for others to recognize her as such; perhaps out of a need to feel accepted, or perhaps out of a need to give herself and her looks a meaning. She was the first inhabitant of Arkadiun's castle, and as such, holds seniority over the others, which she does not fear to flaunt when the occasion calls for it.

Personality overview

Fav. Food: Fish. Any type of fish - if it crawled out of the ocean, Faril will eat it quite happily!
Hated Food: Meat. Any sort of meat that's not fish, specially bloody raw meat, will get a grimace of disgust from her.
Hobbies:

_____+ Grooming - To say that Faril is vain is... quite possibly the understatement of the century; she's been known for spending copious amounts of time just staring at her reflection on mirrors, or when those don't abound, upon the clear, reflective waters of the castle lagoon. She also spends grand part of the day grooming and tending to both her pelt, and long hair; not only does she keep clean and elegant, but she enjoys every minute of it too. Ironically, while she doesn't really like most people, she does enjoy their attention. Just as long as they look and admire from afar and don't attempt to touch her that is.
_____+ Debates - Faril isn't disagreeable, she just really, really enjoys a good debate. Her love of debates often has her taking on the role of devil's advocate, even when she might not actually believe in the cause she's fighting for, just so she can indulge in a nice, intelligent conversation. Unfortunately, she's discovered that it's not that easy to find a nice, mostly calm, intelligent debating partner, and thus she often finds herself going back to Arkadiun whenever she wished to indulge. This knowledge doesn't keep her from attempting to engage the other inhabitants of the castle in 'conversation' though, often with variating results, ranging from poor to disastrous.
Virtues:

_____+ Patient: - Patience is a virtue, and Faril has plenty to spare. At least... for the most part; while she shows excruciating amounts of patience for some of the inhabitants of the castle, she simply can't be bothered with others. Despite this, when she wants something, Faril knows how to lay low and wait for the perfect time to appear in order to pounce; she's in no rush, because... after all, that thing she wants? Yeah, she's going to get it, sooner or later. It's only a matter of time. Time and lots of patience.
_____+ Intelligent: - Faril knows what she wants, and most of the time, she knows how to get it. She's intelligent, resourceful, and adaptable according to the situations she's faced with. She knows how to carry out a plan and can mold herself into it with ease, so long she's had time to think it over. She's a thinker by excellence, not a fighter (though this does not mean she won't lash out if pushed too far), and half of the time, she's stuck pondering over the best course of action to take. This, of course, also means that she's not spontaneous, and thus can miss a fleeting chance when it floats by. Regardless, if she has a plan to follow and time to think it through, Faril can pose quite the metaphorical threat, and there's very little that will sway her from her path.
Flaws:

_____+ Distrusting: - Let's get this straight; Faril doesn't really like you from the get go. She'll stay calm and cool about it, and quite possibly polite (barring a snarky comment or two if her limits are pushed), but she doesn't like you. This makes it really hard for her to make anything other than enemies, for the most part. In her experience, people are usually just waiting to take advantage of her, so she'll save herself the trouble and just group you in with the rest of the village idiots unless you prove her you're worth her while. To top it off, Faril can hold a grudge like no one's business. There's nothing worse than a woman scorned, specially one that has poisonous fins and is not afraid to use them.
_____+ Stubborn: - Changing Faril's opinion on something or someone, once she's made up her mind can be damn right near impossible. While it's true that she's changed her mind on things, it's always at her own pace and at her accord. It's possible that if someone had tried to push her in that direction, her answer would have been the equivalent of digging her heels into the ground and refusing to budge. Some of the castle occupants have sing songed "Mary, Mary quite contrary" on occasion, which has, needless to say... not improved her opinion of them.

Relationships

Love:

_____+ Arkadiun: - "This is, without a doubt, the most interesting of my room mates. I have no idea what made him decide to let us stay with him, nor do I have a clue what he's expecting in return. There was a time I used to really dislike him, mostly due to the previously mentioned points; I don't trust people easily. However, he's proved that he... doesn't seem to want anything from us. Either that, or he has his own agenda and we're all being suckered. Either way, he makes for an interesting ahh... conversation partner. Specially when he gets worked up. Nice to know I'm not that knows how to use her god-given brain around here."
_____+ Summonings: - "Sweet, without being tooth-achingly so, which is appreciated. I usually don't like creatures like her; they're much too kind and understanding for my taste, but she's somehow managed to wiggle under my skin. I guess it has to do with the fact she has a nice, healthy set of faults that I can easily spot. I will never understand why she hangs out with that creep of a plant though; she has poor taste."
_____+ Asphodel: - "Another interesting fellow, if not for the stories he tells, then because he's actually... ironically quite nice despite his looks. Has a strangely morbid sense of humor, but he's usually good company and fairly intelligent. He's also good for spending nice, quiet time with."
Hate:

_____+ Rodinger: - "If there's someone in this castle that I absolutely loathe, it's this guy. He has absolutely no redeeming features about him; not only is he macabrely gross, but he's also clinically insane. I do not understand why Arkadiun allows him to stay within the castle and it's premises, but something tells me that it has a lot to do with Summoning's uncanny ability to soften other's up. I wish I could hate her too. It'd make life easier."
_____+ Skyte: - "Eh, it's not so much that I hate her, but rather, that she makes me feel extremely uncomfortable when she's around. The girl is nothing short of despicably sweet, nice and polite. I'm wary of her; you know what they say about the nice, quiet ones when they're pushed too far. One of these days she's going to snap, and I really don't want to be around to see that."
