about her

Ginebra is a spirit who can appear as a female humanoid or as a bird. Despite her mellow attitude and fragile appearance, she spends her time roaming the snow fields seeking for lost men in order to murder them.

Besides anger and sadness, her emotions are quite shallow. She's a shameless opportunist, getting involved in a situation only if she can take advantage of it. When it comes to the opposite sex, she becomes very seductive and manipulative.

Ginebra also has a softer side, taking care of injured birds and nurturing nestlings that were abandoned by their parents. Even though she's a hematophagous, she doesn't feed on birds.

Her loyal companion is Nori, a steam spirit. Since Nori can't talk, their communication is nonverbal.

Ginebra approaches those who are lost and mesmerize them with her beauty. Then she presents herself as an amicable and magical being.

Eternal sleep: she persuades her victims to get some rest, sometimes by promising them that they will wake up back in their beds the next morning. She lulls them to sleep by singing a soothing melody and lets them perish in the cold.

Deception: she seduces her victims and freezes them with a kiss.

Onslaught: only in exceptional cases. She takes the form of a heavy blizzard and destroys everything in her path.

She doesn't attack women.

treasures

Sometimes, Ginebra takes items belonging to his victims as trophies. Those are personal things such as jewerly, garments, weapons... anything that grabs her attention. Having been in such a remote place all her life, even the smallest things can be amazing to her.

Her most treasured item is an ice-carved snoohok. It belonged to an old sculptor who used to transport his mercancy through all the scattered towns of Arctic Frost. After a violent attack, it was the only sculpture that remained in one piece.

achille's heel

It is known that Ginebra is a merciless soul. However, what few travelers know is that she refuses to hunt children, as she can develop maternal feelings towards them rather quickly. The fact that she can't raise a kid herself —since her skin is too cold to actually provide warmth— exacerbates the situation. This behaviour is driven by instinct and can't be avoided. Whenever she stumbles upon a lost child, she takes the form of a white bird and guides them back home.

Traveling with a kid is a good way to avoid her.

It was a sunny, calm day. Ginebra was watching for her prey: a young couple of lost nomads. Little she knew that her victims were carrying a newborn baby with them. When she heard the crying sounds coming from the tent, it was already too late. Since she was unable to hold the infant without hurting it, Ginebra looked for someone that could save the child, but didn't find a single soul in the area. Being all alone, she had no option but to abandon it.

It was the first time she went against her instincts, and such incident caused her a deep sense of grief and frustration. She went to the hot springs in the mountains, a known spiritual realm, in hopes of releasing all her pain. She slowly soaked herself in the waters, and after meditating for a few minutes, she bursted into tears. It was then that the steam coming from the warm springs formed a small spirit personifying her sorrow, who comforted her with a gentle embrace. Since that day, this little being has joined her journey as a companion.

Nori and Ginebra are like two sides of the same coin. Since Nori is a product of Ginebra's emotions, they both share the same principles and their feelings are connected. Ginebra provides protection and care in return for loyalty and obedience. While she's hunting, Nori is usually looking for injured birds.
