Fenberry is quiet, happy, kind, long-suffering and strong. He's a hard worker and an inventive chef working in one of the toughest kitchens in Subeta, the Rathskeller's Inn where his hearty and flavorful dishes are not only filling, but are attracting the attention of more then just the local pirates. The Rathskeller's revival as a favorite eatery and watering hole among tourists and foodies has been a boon to the local economy, due largely to Fenberry's silent diligence in the kitchen.
He is the perfect mate for Bubbles Galore, his attentiveness and open affection for her makes her feel like royalty and keeps her heart and soul content with her role as his life-mate and mother of their offspring. But where he actually came from and his life story is mostly a mystery to all who know him. When I have asked him he just smiles, shakes his head and says, "Mademoiselle Frieda, you do not want to hear such a boring story." But I have been able to piece together some data and I have compiled what I know in this report.
Fenberry came to my family nearly two years ago during the time I was Ship's Surgeon aboard the Midnight Lamp. When Bubbles matured to mating age, Fenberry 'magically' appeared on board and courted her. I say magically because we were out in the middle of the ocean between the Darkside and the Mainland. He either teleported onboard, or using some magic art such as used by the Meneb, and 'blinked' onto our vessel. In any event, their courtship was brief, I consented to their wish to be life-mates and arranged for the Captain to give them a brief ceremony. I also had her things moved to a small private cabin where they could start their lives together as mates. I could see that Bubbles was very happy with Fenberry, he had the look of one who had been looking for her his entire life.
Without going into to much detail, their union produced dramatic physical changes. Both priggles were born as the non-descript 'common' variety priggles before that night. In the morning, they had been transformed; Bubbles' fiery temper was made manifest as a 'Reborn Priggle' and Fenberry's cool demeanor was made manifest as a 'Glacial Priggle'
Fenberry is old enough to have gone through an apprenticeship of some kind. My instinct tells me it is probably paramilitary because It was Fenberry who secreted Weldon aboard the Midnight Lamp as a stowaway and Fenberry who brought me to him when he needed medical attention. I have been curious about him ever since.
I asked the Gypsies of Eruditia, who have adopted me as their 'Little One" and their Patrinegri, about Fenberry and Meripen, their Queen advised me not to investigate to deeply into his secrets. He is also a "Banished One" like Madison, Merril, Niki, Louis, Niles, Ntropy, Elsie, Rocky, Bon-Bon and me. She said that Fenberry is deeply happy to be a small member of my family, to have the love of Bubbles, Piquels and Wilberforce and that I was not to pry a lid off that i might not be able to put back on. But if that ever happened, I was to call her name wherever I was and she would appear and heal Fenberry again. Meripen warned me with these cryptic words: "Patrinegri, fact-finding and discovery is like a rape, the act of looking and observing draws attention to the observed and changes it forever. You should know this Little One, you yourself have been changed by being watched you whole life. Let Fenberry be content to play the role he is in as a member of your family, do not bring our his demons. Sometimes, you just have to accept things for the way they are and not screw things up by trying to look inside them.
