Why hello, there! You can call me Replay, and I will be your entertainment for this evening. First let me tell you about myself;My mother died giving birth to me and my father had begrudgingly taken me home anyway. He reminded me constantly of how I was the cause of his wife's death and how I had been a burden to him these years. He took to drinking shortly after I was born and it seemed his bitterness and disdain for me only intensified along with the drinking every anniversary of my mother's passing, it wasn't long after the abuse started, and I started to hide and that's when it had all started.One Friday after noon when my father had been in a particularly bad mood during a drunken rampage, I had taken solace in the attic as I had been doing so more and more frequently as his drinking was steadily getting worse. I had made the mistake of telling him I wanted to be a woman instead of remaining a man and he immediately flew into a rage. I remember locking the attic door and planned on never coming down again, I hid there for hours it seemed, never wanting to leave and eventually fear turned to Boredom and I decided to search the attic where I found the two defining things in my life. A dust-covered piano and a violin case on top of it. As if it were a sign, I had examined and played with the instruments as if their existence was for me, I caught on quickly and was already memorizing key placements by the time the sun had set.The next day I brought the violin down to my father with the excitement of a young child that found a candy stash and told my father that this was it. This was what I wanted to do for the rest of my life, become a talented musician, entertain the world with my melodies and feel love I had never experienced properly, but alas my father didn't approve. He felt it was a waste of time and insisted I started acting normal. But I refused, and stayed in my the attic for hours each day and improved on my skills and even wrote songs despite my father's disapproval, and jabs at my goal and my orientation which became a joke to him along with my gender identity, yet I stayed vigil and determined, practicing with the passion of any musician that had been paid off almost five years later when one of my close friends stumbled upon my notepad with one of the first songs I had written and realized just how seriously I had taken my desires to become a musician and submitted the song to one of the colleges I had been rejected from only a month prior only to receive a full scholarship, I can't say my father accepts me for who I am or even thinks my dreams to become a musician have any meaning but I never let his words against me or the woman that I am deter me from my dreams. One day I will be bringing happiness to an audience that gathers to hear my melodies and appreciates the person behind it.
