Name: Anneka Lieke Janssen
Nickname: Annie
Gender: Female
Age: 5
Annie has only known happiness in her life. Even as a baby, she never cried from discomfort. She was perfect, only smiles and baby giggles for the first two years. When she learned to talk, Annie would only say happy things, and she never threw a fit. She reveled in the attention her parents gave her, but as they started to play with her less and less, Annie didn't grow unhappy. From looking at her, you would have never known she was neglected. She was always smiling, or giggling, or laughing, or shouting in excitement. She loved everything and everyone, it seemed.
Children her age didn't like to play with Annie. The other parents worried, but kept their child as their priority and soon enough, Annie was forced to play by herself everyday. She had no regrets, no self doubt, and no hard feelings towards the other children, only smiles. Annie turned to the garden in her adventures. It was bursting with her mothers flowers, a collage of the brightest and the sweetest flowers she could grow. Annie delighted in the fact that whenever she would pick one of her mother's flowers, the blossom's color would fade to black and its petals would fall one by one. She was especially ecstatic when the very last petal dropped.
Anneka's father left when she was three. He gave no reason, no further contact information, just left a perfect Annie behind with her mother. Annie's mother, desperate for love, clung to her little girl like she was the last good thing in her life. She might have been.
In the two years after her father left, Annie remained the adorable, happy child she had been since birth. The home around her, however, slowly died. Her mother's garden turned to nothing but shriveled weeds and long dead flowers; the house Annie and her mother shared became dilapidated, with chipping paint around every corner and rotting wood around the doors and windows; Annie's mother seemed to carry the weight of the world with her wherever she went. She stopped smiling a few months after her husbands' departure and eventually stopped trying to create a peaceful facade for her daughter. When Annie saw her mother in tears, she would smile brightly at her and embrace her. It only made her mother cry harder.
Anneka's mother left on her fifth birthday. She committed suicide by overdosing on medication, unable to live life anymore. She had convinced herself her baby would be better off without a mother who couldn't even manage a smile for her daughter. That day, Annie smiled for her.
Annie has only known happiness in her life because she steals the joy of everything she touches. She literally drains the happiness out of the people and places around her. That was the reason her father left, her home died, and why her mother was so depressed. She feels no remorse for these past events, because she simply is unable to feel anything but happiness.
Anneka Lieke Janssen destroyed her own life, and she's happy about it.
