The Story

How the soul-stealer came to be is a mystery. One story is that he was once an Angel that became a Fallen Angel, a kind that needed to collect souls to survive. Another story says he was forged from the shadows of hell and given the task of collecting souls for the underworld. There are several stories and no one truly knows which is true. Only Soulsuck does, and no one lives long enough to ask him his origins.

Nothing but death and sorrow follows where he goes and it has been that way for many centuries, maybe even longer. No one knows how long the soul-stealer has existed, thus his age is as much a mystery as his origins. All anyone knows is that he and his minion have never swayed from their task, collecting soul after soul in a neverending cycle.

But who knows, perhaps one day he will.

Mutter
Mutter is Soulsuck's eternal companion, helping the soul-stealer sniff out the souls that Soulsuck wishes to collect. Mutter is named such because when he relays the location of Soulsucks' next target, he mutters it to him. Soulsuck is to his minion's way of talking, so Mutter's muttering hardly bothers him.
