Name: Harriette Anne Wellsley
Nickname: Harrie; Rie
Age: 20
Likes: hard rock, cold nights, horror movies, Feagan (fay-gan)
Dislikes: her stuck up mother, the quiet, living at home

Harriette woke up to the sound of rocks hitting her window, and suddenly remembered that she was supposed to have left already. There was a private midnight screening of the original Nightmare on Elm Street, and to get in you have to be dressed as a Freddy or a victim, and she was going to dress as a victim to Faegan's Freddy.

She tore open her window and looked down at Faegan, who held his hands up in the air impatiently. She motioned for him to stuff it, and ran to her closet to put on her costume.

Her phone buzzed on her dresser and she reached for it quickly, afraid any small noise would wake her watch-dog mother.

"abt time rie" the text read. She ignored it and doused her shirt in fake blood, and carried it over her shoulder as she climbed down the lattice outside of her window.

"Oh... hey..." Faegan said, staring at her intently.

"What?" Harriette asked, forgetting she hadn't put on her tshirt.

"Bra..." Faegan replied quietly, in a far-away voice.

"Crap," she said laughing, and pulled the shirt over her head. "Better?"

"No? Not really. But it'll do," he said, and grabbed her hand. "Let's go! We can still make it if we run."

The venue was only ten minutes from her house, so they ran as fast as they could, and were happy to arrive just minutes before the movie started. The hosts had set up a drive-in-esque scene; a projector was positioned to show the movie on a white tarp that had been stretched across the back of an old barn. Harriette and Faegan tossed their blanket down near a tree and sat close so others could have room. At least that's what they would tell each other if the other asked...

"Ladies and gents, if we can direct your attention to the front here!" A man dressed like a murder victim said into a microphone.

The crowd hushed instantly, and listened as he and his wife, dressed like Freddy, went over a few key points that any movie theater would cover, the usual "no cell phones" and "keep it in your pants" kind of guidelines, and passed out goodie bags they had prepared for the small event. Each bag contained a small Freddy doll, a keychain with a miniature replica of Freddy's glove, and a bag of fake blood.

"Pretty awesome right?" Faegan asked, turning to Harriette with a huge grin on his face.

"It really is! I'm so glad you got these invitations. This is so magical!"

"I'm glad you came with me..." he said, and put his hand on her arm.

"Me too."

They looked away from each other quickly, neither sure what to do next. They had been friends since they were six, and the fact that they were both madly in love with each other wasn't something they were quite ready to face yet.

The movie started quickly, and the entire lawn grew quiet as they watched the horror unfold.

After the show had been on for roughly 45 minutes, the hosts began walking around and checking on everyone to make sure no one was passed out drunk or making out past PG-13 standards. The woman dressed like Freddy approached them quietly, and bent down to ask if they were alright.

"We're good! Thanks for doing this, it's so fun!" Harriette whispered.

"It's fun for us too! Our love of horror movies brought us together, and we like to hope it might have the same effect on other couples. You two are just darling together! I wanted to tell you that personally," she said, and walked away.

"What'd she say?" Faegan asked, still looking at the screen.

"Enjoy the movie, have fun, the usual."

Faegan nodded, and nonchalantly slid his hand over Harriette's. This wasn't unusual for them to do, but he would usually take his hand away within a few minutes. This time he left it there throughout the remainder of the movie.

When it was over, the hosts walked around and discreetly passed out invitations to some of the event's patrons. The woman dressed as Freddy approached Harriette and Faegan again, and slipped an invitation into Harriette's hand as she shook it gingerly.

"Next time we want to do Land of the Dead, so be prepared to come as zombies!" she whispered. "And thanks for coming!"

Harriette pocketed the invitation, grabbed their goodie bags, and waited while Faegan picked up the blanket from the ground.

"Ready?" Harriette asked, looking at the time on her phone.

"Yeah, well. I mean ready if you are."

"I better get back. I don't want my mom to discover I'm missing... she's so dramatic about it, you know," Harriette said laughingly.

"Okay, let's go then. I can always text you when I get home."

They hurried back to Harriette's house, and when she saw that none of the lights were on, she ran to the lattice and climbed up, closely followed by Faegan.

"Well... goodnight..." Faegan said once he had gotten his bag from Harriette.

"Goodnight Faegan, thanks again. I can't wait for the next one!"

"Me too dude..." he said, and rubbed his hands on his jeans, as though nervous.

"You okay?"

"Yeah. I better get going, don't want The Beast to come in here. Oh hey, I wanted to give you something from tonight, you know, cherished memories," he said, and took off his Freddy hat to give to her.

"Aw! Faegan, that's so sweet! You love this hat..."

"I know. But I figure it's special..."

"Thank you," Harriette said, and moved in to kiss him on the cheek.

He caught her mouth in his hand, and gently pulled her face toward his for a kiss on the mouth; a long kiss that sent tiny shivers all over her body.

"Sorry..." he said, quickly pulling away from her. "I better go, I'll text you. Sweet dreams Rie."

He climbed out of her window and down the lattice, and stood looking up at her window. She smiled down at him, and blew him a kiss, something he probably didn't see coming. He turned to go, but she caught his attention and motioned for him to wait a minute. Inside of her bedroom, she sprayed herself with perfume, pulled off her shirt, and tossed it down to him.

His eyes widened in surprise as the fake-blood-stained shirt sailed down to him, and landed right in his outstretched hands. He grinned stupidly, unsure of what to do next, so he walked backwards, staring up at Harriette until he got to the edge of the woods outside of her window, and turned to go, holding the shirt close to his chest.
