Name: Tess Vanroe
Sex: Female
Age: 17
Orientation: Unexplored
Occupation: Adventurer
Quad Appearance:
Human Appearance: A young Latina woman with a spry, athletic build, but a tiny stature as she stands at a mere five feet tall. She has long, back length black hair. It's extremely wavy and due to her personal lack of priority for combing it, it tends to end up in a tangled mess more often then not. She has light brown skin, and green eyes. Her fashion sense meanwhile, is limited by what's practical to wear in her line of work. She generally wears hiking boots, hiking trousers, shorts, tanktops, and occasionally buttoned shirts. And they're always in shades of browns, greys, or other colors where dirt stains aren't a big issue. She also commonly wears aviator jackets, goggles, and a sentimental yellow neck scarf. Accessories she carries with her include a pocketwatch, pocketknife, keychain, telescope, canteen, a boomerang, and a backpack often full of other survival necessities... or snacks.
Anthro Appearance:

Bio: Tess lives in a world with a very short known history, and an unknown history that could possibly stretch back for aeons. One day, exactly two-hundred and sixteen years before Tess was born, everyone in the world woke up without any memories. People's minds were still in tact. They could still think, and speak, and knew basic things... but it was as if everything else had been wiped from their memories. No one knew their own identity, or each others identities, or anything about their history, culture, or the world around them. And the world around them was nothing but ruins. The globe was overrun was the ruins of fallen cities, and utopias, temples, and enormous airships. Traces of miraculous technology could be found everywhere, though the rarity of finding anything that still worked was slim to none. For the following generations, the people of the world made due with what they had. New technology, towns, cities, and civilizations were built using the remnants of the old unknown world as templates. Over time, the human race forged a legacy of discovery. Living on the remnants of a world no one remembered a thing about meant that the most important and revered occupations were that of explorers and archeologists, and usually a combination of the two. The informal term for such people was "adventurer" and as the generations rolled by, many of these adventurers became famous for their discoveries and feats of bravery in exploring the uncharted depths of the world... And brave they indeed had to be, for even to this day there's no telling what sort of dangers lurk in the uncharted territories and unexplored ruins. Literally anything could be waiting out there. Adventurers, quite simply, are heroes.

Tess is the daughter of Martha Vanroe, a woman who is widely regarded as the second greatest adventurer in the past two-hundred and sixteen year history. Martha's career wasn't halted for long by Tess' birth, and so Tess ended up spending her entire childhood traveling across the globe. Her mother never had a permanent residence for Tess to stay. Instead Tess spent her years being cared for by different trusted friends and colleagues of her mother's. Despite constantly having to travel for the sake of her mother's career, Tess never actually went on many exhibitions with her due to the danger. As things were, Tess actually spent more time with her mother's friends and their families than she ever did with Martha herself. This would, over time, cause Tess to develop a strong sense of exclusion. She became self reliant at a young age, but at the same time grew to be quite disobedient and a real handful to take care of. For better or for worse, Tess' childhood left her a very worldly person, and thus well suited to follow in her mother's footsteps one day. Martha's friends and acquaintances ranged from people of countless different backgrounds and professions, giving Tess the privilege of learning and experiencing much of what the world had to offer long before becoming old enough to enlist as an adventurer herself.

When Tess was around fifteen, Martha Vanroe mysteriously vanished on an expedition along with the Vanroe family airship. It was a great mystery that had the whole world speculating, but eventually official attempts to locate Martha and her ship were put to an end. This sort of thing had happened to many adventurers and travelers in the past. With so much of the world still unexplored, the inevitability of adventures going missing was just something people accepted. The only one who didn't accept it was Tess herself, though how she felt exactly about her mother's disappearance was hard to gauge. She had never felt close to Martha to begin with due to all the time they spent apart. She did however admire her, and she refused to accept that "the world may never know what happened to Martha Vanroe" as so many people put it. Tess reaffirmed her ambitions to become an adventurer, and made it her personal mission to track down the Vanroe family airship. Whatever happened to Martha, one thing was for sure... That airship rightfully belonged to Tess now! Or so she claimed. Although she still refuses to admit it, Tess may very well hope to find more then just her mother's airship in tact.

By the age of sixteen, Tess had become well trained in the art of exploration and adventuring due to the tutelage of her mother's various friends, who she continued to bounce around between after her mother's disappearance. Of course none of them predicted that she'd jump the shark like she did. Letting her impatience get the best of her, Tess set out to start her career as an adventurer one full year before she was legally ready. With few possessions at her disposal; her trusty boomerang, a mysterious key left behind by her mother, and a newly purchased personal two-seater plane, Tess eagerly began her quest to carve a legacy all her own. Now seventeen years old, her ultimate objective is still to locate the lost Vanroe airship. Until she finds enough clues to point her in the right direction however, she's more then happy to continue pursing more conventional adventurous activities, such as discovering untouched tombs, exploring uncharted jungles, unearthing priceless artifacts, and of course showing up any and all rival adventurers... especially the more violent and homicidal ones. Nothing could be more fun.

Personality: Never being under one adult's influence for very long, Tess grew up to become extremely self reliant, but at the cost of stunting certain aspects of her mental and social development. Even at a young age she proved herself to be exceptionally courageous, willful, and even ingenious when it came to learning something she was actually interested in. Yet on the other hand, Tess has remained astoundingly immature all the way up through her childhood years to now. Her common sense, civility, manners, tact, and patience are all woefully lacking. While Tess isn't stupid, her immaturity and refusal to educate and better herself in certain ways, has lead to her looking like a complete dunce in most people's eyes. She's just ridiculously, and almost comically hardheaded. Tess also happens to be extremely energetic, and her personal interests vary from unladylike to just plain childish. Her interests, sensibilities, sense of humor, attitude, and behavior make her seem less like a tomboy and more like a highly obnoxious little boy in a young woman's body. Childish traits aside however, Tess has at least proven herself very competent when it comes to exploration and archeological study. She's also a competent fighter, knowing all too well how to defend herself. She can be very competitive in either case, and takes great pride in her capabilities.
