Selma wants to get out of this place, certainly. But her issue isn't with the profession, it's with the place. She was made for this job, sleazy as it might sound. Her gift is the ability to enchant, with a little help from a flowing tap. No, she just wants to move somewhere more civilized. Ideally where the men don't smell like a stray cat inside a hog pen inside a miner's boot. Ultimately, her life's goal is to marry a man with deep pockets and poor vision, so that she can pursue her interests without restriction. Until then however, she is content with stripping local cowboys from their wages with a smile.
