Whatever you do, don't enter the little door hidden behind the wallpaper. Don't follow the jumping mice. This isn't Alice in Wonderland, and what you'll find through the looking glass is anything but wondrous.

Children, listen to me. I've seen what happens to the little ones who visit their other home. Other Mother awaits, with delicious home-cooked meals, special milkshakes, and fun games to play. But beyond the facade there lurks an evil intention. You think she's all that? Your room there is everything you've ever wanted, the gardens are spectacular, and everyone's attention focuses on you. When your real Mom and Dad are too busy to entertain you, Other Mother and Other Dad are ready to play, and their every thought revolves around what you'd like to do. When you're convinced that Other Home is superior, they'll ask you to stay. But there's a price to pay.

You have to let her sew the buttons. She'll take your eyes, and sew the buttons, and then her true colors will be revealed. The beautiful Mother will change, metamorphose into something ugly, with spindly appendages and sharp features, her button eyes glaring at you suspiciously. It's all been about her, you see. She wants love, but when a creature does not know the true meaning of love (and she does not), it seeks to devour you until you're All. Used. Up. And then Other Mother will throw you away like an old, unwanted doll, trapping you behind the mirror. You can't escape. Your soul is trapped forever, because she has your eyes. And the eyes are the windows of the soul.

What manner of creature is this, who wants only to be loved and is willing to do anything to ensure that? A hungry creature, with limitless appetite. . . and she will take what she wants if you refuse to give it to her. Is this love? I don't think so. The perfect home and perfect parents are simply bait for the unwary. Make your escape, if it's not too late. She'll ensnare you, and then what will you do? (Listen to Mister Whiskers, and he will aid you!)

I know what to do, children. I've seen. Ask to play a little game of hide-and-seek, and find the eyes of the children lost to her charms before you. Find the eyes, and save the day. Leave her to ponder what love truly is, alone for eternity, hungry and unassuaged. And that key? Toss it down the well! Then run, children â€” run away and never look back! (And thank your lucky stars for mangy cats!)
