The journey to get that sign over the door was not easy. So much heartbreak. So many lonely days and nights.
I had a... sad childhood. I was so shy and didn't know how to connect with people. My best friend was an old ragged stuffed bunny that had two buttons for eyes. I named my bunny doll “Tobi” and I told her all my secrets. I took Tobi everywhere with me. At school she slept in my backpack and at home she never left my arms. We were the best of friends.
As the years went by things changed. I learned to talk with people and I made real human friends. And I even fell in love. I thought that I would spend the rest of my life with Ayden. But, life can be cruel. We were high school sweethearts, but things fell apart. Ayden left for the military and I was left behind broken hearted. In my grief I turned to the one friend I'd always had, Tobi.
I remember looking into those button eyes, running the pads of my fingers over the tattered thread that held them in place and feeling hope. An idea had sparked inside my head. I wanted to provided others with the same comfort Tobi had given me, so I decided to open a place where people could make their own stuffed toys.
