The creatures from Araien are far from aimless and mindless, though there have been notable exceptions. By interaction with human-based energy known as Suci, the forms of Meng and Akumu are able to develop coherent thought processes.
Seo is one of those creatures. Formerly a simple dream in the form of a rather large swan-like bird, it (commonly referred to as 'she') preferred to dwell in areas where people enjoyed playing in. Through constant fawning over by people, Seo grew into a beautiful beast who bestowed blessings of dreams onto people.
Seo herself is now considered a guardian of her own large realm in the dreamscape, offering a safe haven to those newly discovering the world of dreams from the harm of dark energy. While she does not prevent Akumu from slipping in from time to time, she provides sufficient energy to those within her realm to overcome the nightmares. Greedy people have wanted to harness her energy for themselves, but she has even more guardians to fight back for her sake - for they know, that without her safe haven, there will be far fewer spaces left protected within the dreamscape.
