Pronounced Mere-Adore. Or Mira pronounced Mere-ah for short.

The day was sparkly somewhere unknown, birds were chirping in a bright forest dripping with with dew, and flowered sunlight.

In her mind she could see them, see it all. The colors, smoky with disuse, charged forth within her thoughts like chariot riders wielding thunderous spears of lightening in multiple ever-changing hues. They flashed behind her eyes, piercing through her tumultuous thoughts, into her emotions, going where they should not.

She kept her eyes closed, hardly daring to breathe, lest she should lose the thin thread of such splendor. If she could only hold onto it for a few moments more.. Despair rose up, choking her veneer of calm. No! This world is mine, she thought, refusing to let go of the bright images conjured up in her imagination. So as not to lose them she fed them her soul.

Purples dance and churn with black, together but apart as oil and water, soaring through into sunbeam lances made of bright pinks, soaring up and up and then floating down onto another plane, settling into a field of soft mossy green, laced with a darker ivy, it takes on the texture of water as she goes down into a delicious aqua that you could almost drink, the play of a brighter green turning to yellow, reflections on the water as though you were looking up through it, higher until breaking free to see the bright blue of an endless summer day.. Noises from the hall. They cause her to open her eyes, leaving her unsatisfied and angry.

She would have growled but it was pointless, it only served to beget the anger that she must smother. Best to let it die before it reached her lips.

Her room was dark, her covers a mess around her as she lay in bed. Her name was Mirador.

She is a citizen of the Harrows. The Harrows is on a plane of existence separate from that of their origin world, Prash. Her people had been cast out generations ago. She had never seen the world that she dreamt of. And she didn't know how she did it but she knew that's what she was seeing. Their world is locked away from Prash... For the most part. But of course there are always those with ambition who claw their way through to prey on the unwary.

Mirador has something wrong with her. She feels it inside of her, it is utterly foreign to the world she lives in. She knows it is wrong because it is the opposite of everything she was taught to be. She craves colors, she feels emotions that are forbidden, she has learned to lie with her entire being just to live in the world that she does. But god, does she want to escape. She wants to go and live where the air is blue, she wants to know the touch of a clean pure wisp of wind and breathe in a place that is not choked with dark and bloodred auras.

There was an especially important dream tonight. All day it haunted her and filled her eyes with starlight. She had to force it from her mind after a sharp reprimand from one of her fellow clanmates. If she was found to be weak she would not survive. The weak were prey and she lived among predators. She'd snapped her teeth at the bitch in reply who smiled smugly, all was well it appeared..

Except it wasn't. Something was going on.. Something was happening. Her dreams, always just vapid glimpses of the Above were drowning her senses at night. It had used to be that it was all she could to hold onto them but now.. now they engulfed her. She saw water, almost always water, that remained the same, but now there was chaos- dark galaxies and nebula dust swirling until she could barely see her own world and was swallowed up by the dark and the stars, so many bright stars.. And there was singing. Not one but hundreds of singing stars and the desperate knowledge that she had to find a way out of here she had to go to the.. outside place? That was the other thing she'd seen. Glowing lights and iridescence, the marsh brown of the swamp and the deep green of forests.

Some of her kind knew how to travel between the worlds. Mostly it was reserved for the higher court and those with great magic. Her magic was small and not impressive and she was not high society. She knew that one particular dark prince, Pasgen, was always going through the veil. It would be dangerous but she needed to get to the other side. She didn't dare approach him so she followed him into the misty night, careful not to alert any sleeping goblins or set off any traps left in the woods by their 'king'. He opened a piece of the world it seemed like, a hole that was faintly white, like fog but she could see night on the other side as well. He walked into the portal and she hurried forward. She waited a few minutes and hopped that he was gone. Quickly, she stepped through.

He was nowhere in sight but she could hear him and a woman's voice as well. Their tones were harsh but coy; they seemed familiar with one another. She was torn between wanting to see who one of the High Princes could be talking to in the forbidden land of all places and just getting the hell out of there. She chose the latter. She turned and went into the forest. Then she saw the dusky blue spheres hanging in the air. They reminded her of the stars in her dreams. Confused, she watched them.
