The land was abandoned but the tall cathedral still stood, dark and quiet. A scratching could be heard echoing through the stone and wood structure. But it was just the wind. From the front you could look out and see the cold, grey castle where the gargoyles still stood watch over the overgrown grass and crumbling houses. The arches were worn and cracked but still arced into the desolate sky. The village across the moor was cozy and still bustled but none dared to venture into the old town save those whose traditions still required them to leave an offering or a token at the site.

There are still strangers in foreign cities who talk about the grand and powerful Arches of Grimistaire. They are just a long lost legend now...
