Hagsmire is not a who, it's a what. Although he has no true being, Hagsmire takes the form of a Lain, although due to the fact that he has not quite fit in the body properly, Hagsmire smokes at the ends of his feathers. He also represents the hell of all pets that have done heinous crimes, mostly Lains. Hagsmire's feathers hold the spirits of the all those who has offended him personally.
Prologue

An ugly Lain called Kantus clacked his beak nervously as he descended. The Lain ruffled his ragged, haggish, black feathers as he lighted down on a tree stripped of it's usual foliage. He swiveled his head. His lamp-like yellow eyes observed the new place he had arrived days before.

Kantus could remember red, red, and red. Claws slashing at him and saliva dribbling as the Tigrean tore him to pieces. Slowly and agonizing. The scarlet running through his head and deep blackness. He wasn't sure where he was when he woke up, but it was very different from the place he had once lived. This place had nothing but skeleton-like trees with branches that clawed the sky. And whenever he moved, it hurt like fire, burning nearly all of his willpower.

And that wasn't it. Winds hurtled toward him everyday. Bashing him, tearing off his feathers, scarring his legs, and what not. It was only that he fought that he had not been like the others that inhabited this place. Another wave of winds were blowing towards him now. This one looked massive, dark as night.

Chills went down Kantus's spine as he looked closer. This wave of wind was not like the other winds that had blown. This one had eyes, legs, feathers. It was a massive Lain. But it was not a Lain. It had midnight black with chilling stare. One look and it ignited nightmares within Kantus. The feathers of this nightmare Lain were longer than normal feathers and were sharp as knives. It's talons cut at rocks and anything that was in it's way; slicing them to ribbons. And it was headed toward Kantus.

Kantus flapped desperately as he tried to leave the tree. But it seemed as if his feet had turned to stone. He could not move. Kantus stared at the nightmare Lain with terror. He saw as the lain whisked away all the stray Lains who had not been able to escape. And to Kantus's alarm, the Lains were tossed like trash, smashing into the ground and bouncing on the ground with ear-shattering cracks. Their feathers were torn off with a cruel rip and they had blank stares, and they welled with scarlet everywhere.

As the nightmare Lain drew closer and closer, it dawned on Kantus.

He was dead.

Kantus remembered all the baby Sheetas and Clawsions and countless others he had done away with in his lifetime. He had done those terrible things in his life, slashing at his victims brutally and mangling them into pieces. And he regretted his actions now.

And drawing closer and closer, it was hagsmire.

It had come to take him.

This was hell.
