You have never known love. You have never even known life. All you had known was death and despair as you and your kin reaped the souls of the cursed. Souls were your sustenance and cold was your heart as you wandered with your kin, searching for souls to reap. You have only known fear, you have only known pain. The leader forced you to reap and reap and reap, fed only by the souls of the cursed. And yet, you wondered. Were they truly cursed? Was a mother and her baby cursed? Was an innocent child cursed? What of the father of many, working hard every day? What of the sibling who shielded his younger sister from your scythe as you reaped them both? You wondered as you fed on souls and tried to make sense of all this.It was a deviant that eventually cursed you yourself. The deviant, she was young and lovely. Hidden by her blue cloak, she refused to feed, refused to reap. She starved, and yet she was happy with it. She told you that she did it because she didn't want to kill anyone. You, with bloodstained hands, were puzzled by her attitude, yet drawn to it. You wanted to know more, and before you knew it you spent more and more time with her, despite having to feed from time to time. You reaped less, you ate less, but you were happy with the deviant as you smiled underneath your cloak. But it was not meant to last. The next soul you were to reap was the deviant herself, the leader commanding you and you specifically to reap her soul. You couldn't protest, couldn't cry. Your heart was cold and numb as you advanced on her. And yet, she had a look of peace as you raised your scythe. Her gaze made you falter. You couldn't do it. So you told her to run away, far away, away from the bloodstained you that was impure as the rest of your kin. As you watched her flee, you decided right then and there. The leader must be stopped. You came to him, scythe in hand, as he asked if you had done the deed. You attacked, you hurt, you killed. Your kin found you feeding off of the leader's soul and you fled as you were chased by your kin, the very ones you had grown up with. You were marked, a criminal in people's eyes, for the murders you have done. And yet, after taking the leader's soul, you still murdered. You still reaped. You still ate. But it was never enough and you wanted peace.Peace came in the form of a princess, her four legged majesty meeting you one day as you curled in muck and grime, waiting at death's door, your hope gone. The princess saw your strength and took you as her protector, despite knowing that you have killed and killed without mercy. The princess, though haughty, reminded you of someone, someone of blue and kindness. So you pledged your allegiance to the princess, never once revealing your true name to her. And for once, you knew what it was like to have enough to nourish both body and soul.Oh Bloodstained Murderer, who has killed and killed, will your sins be forgiven one day? The Princess of Sky and her charge have forgiven you, and so, too, have the deviant. But you...will you forgive yourself one day?
