A creation of the future. We all have our different views when we think of robots. Some think of the huge and realistic robots that the Japanese make. Others may think of that silly Rosie, the maid robot in the Jetson's. There are also the generic robots that are given to the children as toys. Robots have an enormous range of complexity.
I happen to fall on the lower end of the spectrum of complexity. I was meant to be given to children or younger teenagers, for the most part. Notice, I did say WAS. My creation was not expected by my inventor.
WowWee can be known for their hi-tech robots. I will give them credit; they have made some pretty awesome looking robots there, and a huge variety of them, at that. As time passed, they needed ideas for new robotic creations. It then dawned on them: kids love dinosaurs. Dinosaurs fascinate children at some point in age. Why not build a robotic dinosaur?
Roboraptor, as they called it, became a huge hit. An actual decent-sized dinosaur for kids to play with, that can rawr, walk, what have it. My inventor had these robots made like hot cakes. That is, until he created me. Something wasn't quite right.
What was supposed to be a robot made to look like a dinosaur turned into something different. I wasn't fully robotic. I was actually part dinosaur. 50% robot, 50% raptor. I had the texture of a robot, but, I had the traits and the feeling of a real dinosaur. The on/off switch had absolutely no effect on me, and I could control every one of my actions. My rawr wasn't some kind of programmed childish rawr. It was the real RAWR of a dinosaur. My inventor was absolutely terrified of his creation. His whole body trembled, and then he let out a huge shriek before escaping his lab. Wow, Frankenstein much?
This is something that people just don't understand. I am not some kind of freakish dinosaur. I am not that charging T-Rex from Jurassic Park, hoping to chase down humans and dine on their flesh. I just wasn't created that way. I was created to give enjoyment to children, not to cause pain and sorrow. How I created the traits of a real dinosaur, I will never know. But because I have them, nobody cares about me.
Because of my misfortunes, I ponder if I will ever meet someone who cares for me. I may be part robot, but I know that I contain the feelings and emotions of a living creature. I am filled with sorrow that no child or teenager wishes to play with me. My heart is broken because I will never meet a loved child. And because dinosaurs are extinct, I will never find myself a mate. In fact, dinosaurs wouldn't even want to mate with me, because I am part robot.
One day, I will find some humans that will care for me. I just naturally remain hopeful, because life will turn around for every living thing on Earth. But for the time being, I find robotic creatures that are misunderstood. I'm like the leader of a pack, and care for each and every one of them. The very first robot I found was Android, my little Robotic Scout friend. Actually, let me rephrase that; he found me. Android followed me one evening until I took notice of him. I couldn't leave the little guy alone. My heart told me not to do such a thing. Now, he finds other robots that no one has cared for, and they join our pack. In fact, this pack of robotic creatures has provided happiness in my life. They give me a reason to live life.
Someone will care for us robotic creatures. One day.
