As a youngster, Inx could never understand the other young Kerubi's fascination with creating shadows on the wall. His friends would spend hours trying to create the most intricate designs possible, while he just sat there and stared: utterly confused as to why they would spend so long, just waving their paws and tails in front of the light from an ordinary desk lamp. Surely nobody could get that much fun from a light bulb?!

Inx decided that shadows weren't interesting enough for him - he wanted colour and as vibrant a colour as physically possible. He spent weeks trying out painting, but to his disappointment, the once vibrant colours, faded as they dried.

Some time later in a science class, he heard the word blacklight mentioned, and his ears pricked up. The teacher was describing how this blacklight can make colours appear more vibrant, and although the exact science behind the light was lost on Inx, he started frantically making notes about it.

On his way home, Inx stopped off at his local electrical supplier, and trawled through the entire shop before eventually finding a solitary Blacklight Light Bulb in a dusty box, hidden behind hundreds of boxed Dusk Light Bulbs. The shop keeper was a little surprised as the light bulb Inx wanted to purchase: he'd forgotten that he even had any Blacklight Light Bulbs in stock, but blew off a layer of dust from the box and handed it to Inx in a small paper bag.

Inx now spends hours in his room, with his solitary Blacklight Light Bulb illuminating the his colorful paintings on the walls. Finally he's discovered the joy of painting and that there is a way to at least enjoy the stream of light from a light bulb, although he still refuses to cast shadows onto the wall.
