Edwina was just a lonely plush rabbit, lost, shuffling aimlessly around town by herself, her fabric torn, stitches pulled and stuffing spilling out of her small belly.
Tired and defeated, Edwina was just about to give up hope, Edwina is found by a kindly old woman who takes her home to her little shop on the hill. The old woman reveals herself to be a seamstress, and quickly patches up Edwina and makes her feel right at home in her store.

Incredibly thankful for her help and kindness, Edwina agreed to stay with the old woman and help out around the store as an apprentice, so long as the old woman was willing to teach her how to sew.
So every day, Edwina would sit atop the fabric-strewn table and practice her stitching on a scrap of cloth. As she did so she would watch, in awe, as the old woman sewed lavish clothes, soft plushies, pretty dolls and intricate quilts for her visiting customers.

But what always impressed Edwina the most, was how the old woman seemed to be able to fix anything.
Tearful children would rush into the store, clutching their favourite old toy with a missing eye or pulled arm, and with just a few flourishing flicks of her wrist, the old woman returned the toy, good as new. She would save treasured jackets and dresses, repair beloved blankets and quilts, each customer beaming with gratitude and happiness as their treasure was restored and returned to them.

Perched atop a pile of fabric, fiddling away with her needle and thread, Edwina thought of how she wanted to bring that sort of happiness to people too.
After many months working with the old woman, helping around the store and improving on her sewing, Edwina finally reached a decision.

"Agatha?"
Edwina said to the old woman one chilly morning,
"I've decided that I want to travel."
Edwina continued, fiddling with her paws,
"Not every village or town has someone like you in it that can sew and fix things, so I'm going to travel around and make people happy like you do by fixing their tattered treasures!"

The old woman smiled and petted her small friend on the head,
"That sounds like a wonderful idea, you've learned well and are quite the little seamstress, those villages will be lucky to have you."

The old woman chuckled,
"Just be sure to come back and visit so that you can tell me all about your travels."

So after packing a small bag and filling it with some fabric scraps, sewing needles, buttons and a few small spools of coloured thread, Edwina hugged her friend goodbye and stepped out into the morning sun, small "assistant" Francis in tow.
She was on her way.
