Nil the Spring Kitty

Nil is my spring kitten. I have been with her for many years now. She has always been my sweetest companion, always there when I need her most. She prefers to lay in my lap as I rant on and on about what I did for the day or even about gargled nonsense. It's comforting just listening to her purr as she remains curled up in my lap. She never has any complaints even though there is enough to make fuss over in this decaying world. She's just so peaceful. Occasionally she will give me 'the look'. Well, she actually has quite a few looks. Body language is important to her.

Sadly, she suffers from the same fate as I, immortality. She never asked to be injected with a time spore. It just sort of happened like it did for most people. Rarely does it attach itself into a pet but Nil became an exception. She didn't think much of it before her old owner had aged from an infant to an elderly woman. Even then she didn't make much of a fuss. A cat doesn't know any better so I wasn't too surprised.

We had found each other on the streets. No one from her previous' owners family could keep her contained. She couldn't grasp the concept of death so she looked everywhere for her owner. I was doing my rounds at the graveyard when I had found her curled up to her master's tomb stone. I couldn't help but feel sad for her. When she laid eyes on me though I knew I had found a companion for the rest of eternal existence.

Vita the Maiye

Vita was another kitten who ended up in my graveyard. I've only known her for about a year or so and I feel like there is more to be learned. She is very young and inexperienced with the world. It's refreshing having a young one with me. She can be a handful though. She's always getting into all sorts of trouble. Unlike Nil Vita has a lot to complain about. If you don't give her your full attention she will meow constantly until she does. She's sadly spoiled and I'm not sure why since she's never had an owner to my knowledge.

When I had found her she was curled up, high in a tree. She was meowing to be rescued. Thankfully I had gotten over my fear of heights so I immediately climbed up to rescue her. I was thanked by a vicious scratch to the cheek. I didn't mind because she looked so terrified and hungry. Once I showed I was friendly, with tuna can in hand, she was quick to make peace with me.

Even though I have the ability to sense if someone has been implanted with a time fruit I'm not sure if Vita was unfortunate enough to be injected with one. I pray that Yggdrasil does not claim this kitten as well.

Toluca the Glacier Popoko

Dear Luca, she is a tortured soul. She was the daughter of a don, raised to be the perfectly mannered and manipulative Italian woman. She never made is past age fifteen though. A hit man was hired to assassinate her. Little did they know the assassin had more in store for Luca. He played sick and twisted games with her, mutilating her body seemingly beyond repair. He would hack off her limbs and then attempt to freeze them back with nitroglycerin and even sew them. She had been put through so much torture.

Before she was permanently killed off she cried and pleaded to live. Despite all the pain she didn't want to witness the end of her life. She wanted to fight and live the life she was meant to. Yggdrasil had heard her cry and injected a time fruit into her body without her knowledge. It wasn't until she took a bullet to the brain did she realize that she had been 'blessed' (in her own opinion) with immortality. This had frightened her captor, which gave her the opportunity to wrestle the gun from him and leave him broken and bleeding.

I had met her by chance really, some time after the incident. She was trying to find her way home and ended up in the garden of Yggdrasil. She was amazed by the architecture of the garden and more intrigued when she spotted me bound to the tree of Yggdrasil, trying to nap. It was childish, and she knew it, but she pestered me with questions. Once I explained to her that she was immortal she didn't believe me. Eventually she came back and apologized, reluctantly of course.

She's done a lot of growing up since then. She puts little trust in others and when she does she isn't too kind to them. She is very serious and has a great deal of pride in herself. She has a cold exterior and prefers to be left alone. However, I know deep down she's one of those cases where silence is really a cry of help. Every person needs a good hug every now and again so I don't mind giving her one. She can be a sweet heart and is absolutely precious in 'awkward' situations (aka any situation involving closeness).

She loathes though who do not cherish there existence and grows violent when someone devalues their life as if it were nothing. Don't get me wrong, I get quite upset myself, but she will gladly throw the noose at you if you wish to throw it all a way. Oh well, I've grown attach to her and so I wouldn't change a thing about her.
