WHO IS SOPHIE ?!

Sophie has always liked painting; the smell of paint all around her, the feel of the wood in her hands, the magic of placing those lines one beside the other, and mixing those colors to make something so beautiful.

Her painting skills started pretty young. She liked to dip her tail in paint and wiggle it over a piece of paper. Sadly, poor Sophie was so messy that it didn't take long for her parents to create her a room especially for painting so she wouldn't do much damage anywhere else. Even as she grew up, the mess she made around her didn't change. All her clothes had paint stains on them and she always had some paint in her hair and tail. But when she became a young adult, she thought it would be time to see where this could lead her. She decided to start by looking for a shop where she could get high quality paint, brushes, and canvas.

This little shop out of nowhere called Timble & Co. was getting more and more popular. Because of that, Joyce wasn't able to give advice to customers as much as she wanted, and it was hard to restock the shelves fast enough. And one day, after she decided that she needed to hire help and as fate had decided, a shy little Wyllop entered her shop. Joyce instantly knew that she would be the perfect little helper with the right artistic touch. Not wanting to lose her chance, Joyce went to present herself and offer her help to the Wyllop.

Once she entered the shop, Sophie was in awe. Before she could arrive at the painting section, she was approached by the shop owner, Joyce, who started to ask her so many questions, Sophie was overwhelmed. She ended up telling Joyce that she was there to find nice supplies to make new paintings, and that she wanted to makes expositions with them and sell them, but she didn't exactly know where to start. Joyce sadly told her that she can't help her much in that way, but she sometimes met successful artists and other interesting people that could help her. Sophie could ask for their help when the time came, and the best way to do that would be to come work at the shop!

Within a few months of working with Joyce at Timble & Co., Sophie met lots of nice people and learned so much. She had found nice brushes and canvases for her paintings, and she'd even had time to make a few paintings that she was pretty proud of. Recently, she had gotten some requests to make portraits or scenic paintings.

So, one day she decided that it was time to try for that Riverside Nature Hike landscape that was requested of her. To get ready, she did a little shopping to find the best equipment for the job, and then she remembered that she had seen an odd palette that looked perfect for her. She left the shop, ready to have a wonderful time the next day.

When Sophie woke up the next morning, she went to the window to look outside and discovered that the sky was full of gray clouds. She then looked at her painting stuff that she had packed the day before. She thought she should stay home and try to paint something else instead, but something told her to do her day as planned. She started off with a good breakfast, then she grabbed her stuff and left for the Centropolis station to depart for Riverside.

When she got out of the subway in Riverside, the sky was darker then before, and the air was smelled like rain. Sophie again doubted her choice – after all, painting in the rain was not a good situation, but she again felt that she needed to continue everything as planned. She walked to the Nature Hike with hope in her heart. As she walked, the rain began to fall, but without even thinking, Sophie let her feet guide her to find the place she hoped would inspire her painting.

Sophie walked on, looking around her, trying to find the inspiration she needed for her painting. By now, the rain was starting to get overwhelming. She went to hide under a big tree, and while waiting she took a second look at what was around her. She thought that what she was seeing could make a nice painting, and so she took her canvas and and a pencil and started to sketch some lines to shape the base of her painting. After few minutes, she was happy with it and started to place color on the canvas. It seemed that gloomy colors woudn't fit, so she took colors as she thought they would be on a sunny day.

She started to paint a blue sky with white, fluffy clouds, and of course a shiny sun. She was so taken by making those little clouds that she didn't notice that the rain had stopped. When the sky was finished, Sophie lifted her head to look around her, ready to start painting the water of the pond to find that the rain had stopped and the sky was starting to clear. And so, she continued her painting to finish the water and the grass; the trees and the little wooden bridge. She was fairly happy with what she had done. Sure, it wasn't complete yet, but the scenery was now complete, and oddly enough, the sky was almost clear and the sun was shining.

She took a little break; she hadn't noticed that it was almost dinner-time now. She took out her lunch and ate it while looking at her painting, trying to see if there was something to fix before she would start to work on the details. She then looked around her. The pond was very quiet. There were no birds or insects around, and she thought it might be because of the bad weather earlier.

After her lunch break, she took her brushes and paint out again. She decided to start with a bird on one of the tree branches. A few moments later, a birdsong could be heard. Sophie looked at the tree and saw the bird just as she painted it, the same color and same place on the tree. She wondered how this could happen...

She moved her easel to be able to see what she wanted to paint next. And so she painted few butterflies over the patch of flowers, and to her suprise she saw them appearing out of nowhere to flutter over the flowers. She decided that she wanted to paint a few mallards floating in the water, and they appeared as the butterflies had done!
Anything that she painted become real. Then she wondered if her painting had changed the temperature, too...
