notes:

steamwork pets:
Manmade creations, first begun by the Full Steam Ahead company. Some are created from scratch and others offer themselves up to be transformed and made immortal. They require the magic of Yunium ore to be animated, and allegedly have souls. Steamwork pets can be looked upon with suspicion from those who have never encountered them before, as they are indeed unnatural and appear less cohesive than the sleek and elegant Blackmoon robots.
-quoted from The Canon Project

Blackmoon holds Yunium creations in disdain, citing them as "fickle, sentimental and unpredictable mockeries of the beauty of the automaton form." Since steamwork pets allegedly possess souls, and for all intents and purposes behave as their biological counterparts, it has been called into question whether they are robots at all. Likewise, the steamwork creators find the Blackmoon line of robots too calculating, artificial and detatched. Blackmoon robots and Steamwork robots seldom get along.
-quoted from The Canon Project

- discovers rusty time capsule (where? idk yet). inside is a gilded box, a cogwork key, and several old books (simple clockwork design, gearbound journal, and scrapbook of the future)
- gilded box contains a golden spyglass, pristine and intricately carved with runes. an old and priceless spyglass, crafted by william slater (founder of full steam ahead) himself. the spyglass has ~magical powers~, enabling the user to see how much time a steamwork pet has left - for the clockwork hearts stuck inside each steamwork pet dictates how long their time is on subeta before they stop functioning and essentially shut down and become lifeless.
- cogwork key originally was made to open the box, however abraham (more later on him) discovers that the cogwork key is a skeleton key of sorts, enabling the user to open any lock in subeta, no matter how small or large. it is the only known/documented one. the key is imbibed with the power of shinwa's ancestors, making it one of the most magical artifacts to exist in the subetan world, although few know it even exists.
- simple clockwork design is a textbook/informative book of sorts, with only one copy in existence. written by william haney, it details the mechanisms that make up steamwork creatures, and includes many facts that conrad himself didn't know of, despite the fact that he is steamwork.
- gearbound journal is a handwritten journal, written by a man named abraham. abraham explains how he has shut these items deliberately in a time capsule to keep them safe from harm; only the 'protector' will be able to open the capsule (meaning conrad is the protector).
