Accomplish
Legacy Name: Accomplish

Marcus was a famous scientist at the end of the 22nd Century. Unfortunately for him, this fame came from being terrible at what he did. While most scientists of that time had succeeded in creating a cure for a disease or cloning a human, he couldn't even succeed in carrying out basic experiments that people had been doing for hundreds of years. Despite this, he had refused to give up and eventually managed to do something no one else had: create a new life from scratch (an idea he got from reading his favourite book, Frankenstein).

Because of the importance of what he had done, Marcus called his experiment Accomplish and used him as a way of showing that anyone could succeed if they tried hard enough.

Accomplish quickly became attached to his master and, in return, his master became attached to him. Soon enough, Marcus and Accomplish were best friends despite the creature's inability to talk and, essentially, do anything other than sleep, eat and bark. When Marcus later died of old age, Accomplish was left alone; while the local townspeople knew of Marcus' death, they were wary of entering his home for fear of what they might find from all the experiments gone wrong and thus left Accomplish in the hope he would die without a master to care for him.

However, Accomplish slowly learnt how to look after himself when he realised he would need to care for himself now that he was alone. Eventually he learnt how to steal food from shops and how to prepare it as well as how to turn on a tap to wash himself. His life was a lot more boring now he didn't have anyone to care for him and play with him but at least he knew how to survive.

When the fact he was still alive years after being left alone spread around the world, people from various different countries flocked to visit him and see the creature for themselves. To begin with, Accomplish was wary of the attention but he quickly grew to like it and again as he got used to being around people.

Accomplish became known around the world and people flocked to see him: to see what could be accomplished against all odds. Soon enough, he found himself a new owner who he liked almost as much as Marcus - no one could be as close to him as his creator, but this new woman came close. As much as he looked different to other animals, Accomplish had a life like any other; at last able to just relax and be a pet like Marcus had originally wanted when he made the creature. A pet who showed that anyone could succeed and even make new life if they tried hard enough, but still just a pet.
